Viriskon Tags Viriskon come in two significant forms, sub-cores (conisk) and master cores (conierisk). Sub-cores (Conisk): Quadruped lifeforms with a silicon core surrounded by a tar body. Master cores (Conierisk): Larger silicon cores with an amorphous form of tar; masters over multiple conisk which share energy, memories, and ideals with it. Appearance Sub-cores have a liquid-like outer tar body that commonly takes the form of a wolf-like creature. Since their bodies are mostly tar they can change form, but can not hold bipedal shapes. Sub-cores represent a key part of their master core’s mind and have their own sense of individuality. The silicon core within them gives off a faint glow seen in their eyes. Sub-cores also have a range of different tar colors and core colors, which alters their glow and eye color. Master cores take the form of large crystalline cores surrounded by masses of tar. Most are unmoving from their location, but can manipulate the tar environment if needed. The tar mass mirrors the place they settled, as if they’ve become one with it. Master cores are also seen commonly hooked up to machinery such as ships, stations, and even large computers. Culture The main cultural components of Viriskon come from the fact that oxygen is extremely hazardous to them. In a galactic setting where a majority of races can not only tolerate oxygen, but require it (and also convert it to safer carbon dioxide), race relations are priority for the Viriskon’s oligarchy government. Viriskon life is that of honor and rank as the importance of a citizen to the entire race influences their quality of life. The two most important industries to Viriskon life are mining and energy production. The military and the religious leader of the oligarchy keep everything running smoothly. (Outskirts of Xrison, the Viriskon homeworld) (Viriskon surface cities) History The birth of Viriskon begins in the depths of their planet where the race first thrived. As the race began to advance many factions within the caverns formed and soon combined over time building large underground cities. Once the race conquered the surface and further improved a struggle of land and resources began to draw which evolved into conflicting ideals, then war struck between the remaining two factions. This war nearly tore the race apart before an odd entity visited the race, prophesying their destruction if the war continued and claiming a device will one day arrive that will take them beyond the stars. (Viriskon underground city) Intentions for Story & Setting Interactions My intentions for the race are to develop; an examination into how the mind might work; exploring a person’s mind; mind deterioration; mind deletion; mind merging; memory loss; examining the 4th dimension of space; challenging interspecies relationships; carbon planets; the war of industry versus nature; government conspiracy; chaos, order and other paths of life; attempting to cheat death; criticizing imprisonment systems; and fighting against societal norms.
Looks pretty good, I’m always a fan of non-humanoid species and these guys are pretty unique. There are a few things mentioned in this document that I’d like to see explained in more detail. However, I’m going to ask that you write those elaborations into the final document instead of give you a pending, since the pitch is meant to be just a summary. Pass! As for the things I’d like to see elaborated on: - Why can’t Viriskon take humanoid shapes? Is this a cultural thing, or do they have some kind of physical weakness that prevents them from growing too tall? How is their shapeshifting limited? - What is the prophetic entity mentioned in the history section? (If you want it to be a mystery, you don’t have to tell anybody but the graders) - Are they mostly carbon-based animals that incorporate silicon into their biochemistry (some diatoms do this), or silicone based?
Sorry for the stupendous delay. should it take too long for staff to notice you are allowed to request attention. Anyway, This is an interesting concept, one that I look forward to seeing the intricacies of how they function physically and mentally in your stage two. Second Pass. You may begin stage two.
Ooookay. Goodness, that was a long read. I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with just how well developed and thought out this race is- Coming complete with its own constellations, color theory, language, and a reproduction cycle the likes of which I have truly never seen. It was a long and taxing read that linked to like six others, but it was worth it. I will have to say that you need to remove the technology applications from it and submit them as their own thing, but once that is done you can expect a Pass from me. Other staff might have more issues with the scientific exacts, though. I don't claim to be a chemist or anything, after all. And people say I don't grade races.
That table of contents was 3 pages long. Absolute madman, I respect you. I brought up a few concerns/things that needed clarification in voice with you, and we worked them out, so I'm slapping you with a pass. Enjoy!
