The outskirts of the underground city, Siliciansi. Genetically created plant-life grows with the assistance of the residents and government. Planet Name: Zaykana Environment: Zaykana is an earth-sized planet that has three major continents, and a vast number of smaller islands. Sitting at an average temperature in the "warmer" season of 28 degrees Fahrenheit, and dropping to below zero in the colder. A vast majority of the planet's surface is mountainous and rocky, with little to no native flora growing. The fauna of the planet mainly consists of dozens, if not hundreds of strange sea-life. Ranging from small, shrimp-sized creatures, to large whale-like beings that have manes of long tentacles. Closer to the cities however, genetically modified plant-life begins to flourish. Designed to be able to grow in the frozen wastelands of Zaykana, albeit with the additional assistance of the government. Zaykana is far from it's star, the reason for it's icy temperature. Resources: Stellar metals, Rubium. A large number of unique sea-life, for sustenance or pets Population Size: Roughly seventeen million. Settlements: Three, large cities are currently built across the continents of Zaykana. One for each of the continents. Siliciansi, the city built under an entire mountain range holds a population of two million, six hundred thousand, located on the northern continent. Is primarily a mining operation. Fiierain, the capital city, is located on the southern continent. And holds a steady population of nine million, three hundred thousand. Fiierain is a sprawling metropolis, bio-domes are common and filled with flora and fauna that could otherwise not survive in the frigid environment. One can visit, if they can afford the price. Finally, the smallest, and most recent of the cities. Quorilin, located on the western continent. Quorilin holds a population of roughly four million, one hundred thousand, and was constructed closer to the coast in hopes of acquiring large quantities of sea-life, for consumption and off-world trading to those who would buy them. Regardless of city, the government remains the same. Zaykana is ruled over a council of five houses, which then controls dozens- if not hundreds of smaller ones underneath them. Modeling themselves after the nobles of ancient Earth, those in power can get away with almost anything they wish. And those lacking it are often trampled underfoot or, if they're lucky, brought into a minor house as a servant or adopted member of the family. The culture of the planet is influenced heavily with modification, primarily genetic. It's scarce to see a person walking through the cold roads of the cities without at least one modification, be it something to enhance their potential and survivability, or cosmetic to show off, all indulge in this practice- the houses often having specific lines of creatures grown and created for tasks. From large abominations meant for dealing with riots, to almost completely base templates with a few cosmetic augments to act as household labor. The primary inhabitants of Zaykana are as followed in greatest number to least. Human, Hylotl, Apex, and Glitch. Backstory Permissions: Semi-closed. Player housing is available to those who can afford it and have the proper passports. Most of which being located in Fiierain.
