Description: In-wrist, multipurpose, sharpened durasteel claws that can be quickly (within a second or two) extended and retracted between the knuckles via manipulated wrist muscles. Can be implanted in one or both wrists, but most patients usually opt for both.

Abilities: Obviously, these claws can be used to great effect in melee combat, either to quickly gain the upper hand whilst in a hand-to-hand combat situation, or as a quick method of execution after closing the distance on an enemy gunman. While not as versatile as a knife, the claws are much more lethal in their own right, and can always be used as a last resort after being disarmed in every other way, as they cannot be removed from the body without forceful "surgery." If someone attempts to literally disarm you, they must strike above the forearm, or the claws themselves will stop (or perhaps just slow) their blade.

Conditional Abilities (Optional): The claws are indeed a WONDERFUL conversation starter.

Limitations: The procedure itself is expensive and quite permanent, like a tattoo on steroids; once implanted, they must be used sparingly for a month or so to allow the body to adjust to the change. The weight of the claws themselves make moving your wrists and forearms more difficult, making bulking up your upper body a necessity. When extending (and retracting) the claws, one will experience extreme pain that is only slightly nullified by the buildup of scar tissue over time and numerous uses; the user must also be medically attended to immediately after use to seal the wounds the claws created between the knuckles. Metal detectors are an absolute no-no, so on-planet airports have to be generally avoided.

Conditional Limitations (Optional): Cannot be used like common knives; cutting steaks with them is possible, but impractical and painful.

As seen in the photos above, the claws are connected to manipulated wrist muscles that allow extension and retraction. If the patient lacks the ability to have muscles and tendons manipulated for the claws, then prosthetic ones can be inserted and connected to nerves in the wrist.

    Attainability: Open
, depending on the willingness, financial situation, and influence of the patient-to-be, as well as their biological makeup (muscles and tendons and such)
