Name: Starsugar Plants "Astracanes" (Saccharo crystallus)

    Description:

(Above: The many crystals that protrude out a large Starsugar flower are pure Starsugar crystals, colorized from the different allatropes of prisilite, as sparse as they may be.)

Starsugar is a special type of sugar that is well desired for its properties as a chemical - like salt enhances food, Starsugar enhances the intricate chemical properties of other biological plants, making it many times critical in the creation of some special drugs, alchemic potions, poisons, and more. Some examples of substances where Starsugar is an integral part of are Love Potions, Hearth Potions, and many more.

Starsugar itself comes from a plant appropriately named Astracane, a type of sugarcane-like plant found growing from one stem into numerous green-pink wider stems that then bloom into the beautiful Astral Flower, a large flower with leaf-like petals of a beautiful rainbow hue tinted with green, dimly glittering from the raw starsugar gentle coating its petals - though the real Starsugar that is much desired is Prisilitic Starsugar (called just Starsugar), which is actually formed from dense crystals that protrude from these flowers in the shape very similar to copper chloride dihydrate crystals, only colored various rainbow hues based on the different allatropes of prisilite. The prisilite is obtained through interesting means, taking advantage of the very few amounts of prisilite produced from distant supernovae explosions coming as a result of cosmic rays - the roots of the Astracane plant extend thinly throughout the ground, collecting water, nutrients, and atoms of Ammonium prisilide mixed very very rarely in the dirt; patches of Astracanes have roots extending many many meters from their actual cane. The crystals have few amounts of actual prisilite in them, though enough to have an effect on appearance and composition - actual Starsugar is a mix of raw Starsugar and Prisilitic Starsugar crystallized together in patterns.

To harvest the valuable Starsugar, the crystals are simply pulled from the flowers and then pulverized together - they find use in potions when mixed into water or other soluble liquids to form a solution of differing molarities depending on the concentration needed for the potion. The effect that Starsugar has when mixed with different things is that of an effect enhancer - negligible effects in some herbs or other plants will be brought forth and enhanced to actual effect and other effects will be enhanced so as to actually be useful as a substance. Taking Love Potions for example, when concentrated Cupearia dew is mixed in a Starsugar solution, the solution enhances greatly the hormonic effects of the Cupearia concentrate, which allows it to affect organic creatures to change their mood.

As a sugar, Starsugar tastes immensly sweet but with an occasional sour taste like candy, its effects subtly enhancing mood - sometimes it is sprinkled on sweet foods such as fruits to enhance its flavor greatly. Being a valuable commodity, it is an item of trade due to its many uses, and has spread and grown in many different places such as the Vampyr homeworld of La'megoth, Rantori homeworld of Kamdor, and more. Pulverized Starsugar appears as a beautiful hue of many different colors, sparkling and glimmering when exposed to light. It's delicious.

    Behavior:
    Plant.

    Tamability:
    Plant.

    Where is it found?:
Astracanes can be found in many different places, especially those with high concentrations of prisilite from nearby supernovae.

    Rarity:
Fairly uncommon in nature, though it can be cultivated on mass if given enough nutrients - dirt used to grow Astracane is sprinkled with a very small amount of Ammonium prisilide.

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy:
    Photosynthesis and nutrients

    Products?:
Starsugar and Astral Flower (blooming couples beware of the beauty of a bouquet of Astral Flowers)

    Reproduction:
Asexual - Beneath the base of the crystals is a bud that blooms into a few seeds that are blown in the wind, concentrated with tiny crystals of Prisilitic Starsugar.

    Size:
Around half the height of Sugarcane

    Weight:
    Small

    Lifespan:
Can live for up to twenty years

    Abilities:
Important substance as it enhances effects to create interesting potions or other substances.
    Valuable trade commodity.

    Flaws:
    It's a plant.
