Name: Stardust Waverider Description: (Above: A Glitch ship travelling across Hyperspace by following a Stardust Waverider, which creates mini temporary hyperlanes that can be used for travel.) A Stardust Waverider is a massive manta ray like creature that is native to Hyperspace, appearing as one of the most beautiful creatures within Hyperspace, but also being rare. They have two large, colorful eyes on the front of their flat heads, their skin smooth and silky but hard. They have strange, unique markings that appear naturally on the surface of their skin, glowing as they sail across the galaxy. A Stardust Waverider, as it travels, produces a heavy amount of Asteria Gas that sparkles and shines in a trail of stardust behind them, a mesmerizing sea of stars that dissipate into the void of space behind them. This gas, of course, can be collected and harvested by following the Waverider. The Stardust Waverider has two very unique abilities. The first is that the Waverider can actually travel at faster-than-light speeds, travelling across the smaller realm of Hyperspace similar to how a normal spaceship would (though slower than a starship travelling through Hyperspace.) The second and most unique ability of the Waverider is that it actually generates a cuil rating that works to actually create a small, temporary hyperlane that trails behind the creature. This allows spacecraft to travel through hyperspace safely without being exposed to the dangerous physics of being outside of a hyperlane, allowing them to see some of the more exotic sights of Hyperspace. The downsides, of course, is that its slightly slower to travel in, does not enable the pilot to choose their destination, forces the ship to stay within the trail of the Waverider until it reaches a stable hyperlane, and is rare to find a Waverider to ride with. Behavior: The Stardust Waverider is a very nomadic creature, travelling almost constantly towards places of high cuil rating to feed from the anomality before moving on to search somewhere else. The pattern in which they move is fairly unpredictable, so people riding with the Waverider should prepare for quite a journey. Tamability: Non-tamable. It ignores most things. Where is it found?: Hyperspace. Rarity: The Stardust Waverider is a very rare species to come across, but truly a beautiful sight when one does. Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: Stardust Waveriders travel until they find sources of high cuils in Hyperspace, where they will use the anomality to invigorate itself along with consuming organic compounds sometimes found in stardust. Products?: Asteria Gas, increased cuil rating Reproduction: Very rarely, approximately once every hundred years or so, a Stardust Waverider will create a dense, spherical egg of a shiny material infused with asteria gas, glowing and sparkling. This egg will sit in the void of space for roughly two years before hatching into a baby Stardust Waverider, which matures in around thirty years. Size: Most are the size of a frigate to a destroyer class ship. Weight: Very heavy. Lifespan: It is currently unknown how long they live for, as no apparent aging has been recorded in the short span that they have been studied. Abilities: Produces a large amount of Asteria gas. Generates a small temporary hyperlane that trails behind the creature, allowing ships to travel behind it. Can travel at FTL speeds. Flaws: Constantly travels from a need to feed from hyperspatial anomality sources.
