A statement from our chief executive office, Aurelie Elodie dans les Etoiles: Good evening. This contract is addressed openly to engineering companies, divisions, and crews. The SOLUS Corporation is seeking to investigate deep subterranean pockets, and extract resources from the furthest reaches of planetary crust. In order to do this we require breaking edge technology in vehicular engineering: a vehicle with the capability of carrying a crew and drilling deep into the earth for delivery of crew and payload to subterranean regions. The specifications are the following: The vehicle must be able to hold up to 6 crew member of up to 8 feet in height. The vehicle must be able to bore through loose soil, dirt, bedrock, and hard rock. The vehicle must be insulated against temperatures of up to 1200 C due to subterranean heating. The vehicle must have on-board controls and route planning in addition to programmable routing based on predetermined paths. The vehicle must be able to hold up to 1 tonnes of the combined weight of crew, provisions, and equipment. The vehicle must have adequate minimum downward bore speed of 10 cm/s and upward bore speed of 3 cm/s. Greater bore speeds are preferred. The vehicle must be powered with an onboard vehicular reactor and must have a large emergency battery capacity. All fuels and power sources must be able to be teleported with ease or refined from local materials (no radioactive materials like solarium, no erchius). We understand these power constraints may be difficult to work with. Effective powering of the vehicle will be a major factor in the acceptance of your design. The vehicle should be built for frequent maintenance due to material degradation. Parts should be easily replaceable and maintainable. Hull materials should be preferably constructed from a common metal or metal alloy like durasteel; increased vehicle mass is an acceptable tradeoff in this regard.
