Name: Saran aka Death Worms Description: The slimy and scaly Saran thrive in the warmer regions of Zecyria such as inside the moist areas of the Deepwood, the sewers and in some cases, the water supply. The Saran are able to see in the dark and glide through the water much like an eel, feeding off smaller prey, corpses, biological waste and matter. A rounded orifice gives way to a mouth full of suckers that are capable of latching onto even a fully grown Apex with ease, added onto the fact that they are covered in a layer of slime and are almost impossible to grip, these 'Zecyrian Death Worms' are a danger for any avid adventurer. Behavior: Congregating together in small to medium sized swarms, when their mouth is closed looks like just another harmless fish, but when the unsuspecting victim goes in for a closer look the Saran will strike with its mouth full of suckers and fangs that deliver their naturally occurring paralyzing bacteria into their host, numbing their motor skills for around one hour. If an unsuspecting victim falls into a nest of Saran, they will continuously bite and eat away at their prey until nothing is left. The Saran will not attempt to attack unless provoked or if their water supply or home has been disturbed which is then they will slowly swim towards their perceived enemy and surprise attack them. Bright lights are agonizing to a Saran that will begin to eat itself to death instead of withstanding the pain. Tamability: Cannot be tamed. Where is it found?: Warmer regions of the Deepwood & the old sewers of Zecyria. Rarity: Common. Diet: Insects, small prey, corpses, waste & matter. Products?: Teeth can be carved like ivory. Makes good fertilizer. Reproduction: The Saran are simultaneous hermaphrodites, meaning they have both male and female reproductive organs and can reproduce on their own. Although this ability exists, the Saran continue to stick together in groups for a better chance of survival. Size: 1mm - 2m. Weight: 1 - 100kgs. Lifespan: 1 – 15 years. Abilities: Attracted to corpses & waste. Night Vision. Slippery & difficult to grip. Can sliver along land for around forty minutes before drying up and dying. Can paralyze their victim for one hour due to the bacteria in their mouth. Flaws: Dies from exposure to the elements very easily. Salt is like acid to their skin, causing a chemical reaction with the slime. Light is agonizing to their eyes, causing them to eat themselves to death.
