Name: The Sanctusian Goblinoid. They've yet to be given a proper name under binomial nomenclature due to the lack of much proper study and documentation into the organisms on the planet Sanctus, due to its seclusive and out-of-the-way nature.

Description: Squat, humanoid creatures with a very short neck that often appears to not even exist at all in some more overweight members of the species. Skin is leathery with a bumpy texture and most often are colors of muddied greens and browns, occasionally one is born with a mottled skin pattern. They often walk around with waddling gaits, knuckles dragging the dirt as they leer around with their nigh perpetual toothy-grins, their own teeth often being mottled with filth from their previous meals, sometimes even showing slight growings of moss and algae on them. They range from 2'5" to 3'2" tall.

Behavior: Goblinoids share much in terms of behavior with the fantasy creatures that are their namesake. Minorly intelligent on the same level as some corvid birds, they can show cleverness and a desire to figure out puzzles they've been presented with, but are still very animalistic little creatures with haughty and flippant personalities.
They are easily distracted by anything that interests them, usually that which is shiny or reflective, and as such can be placated with small gifts of trinkets. When angered or made upset, they'll often enter childlike tantrums where they'll attempt to destroy whatever is around them as they scream and throw their arms around.
As they are hardly very formidable beasts without being in large groups, they can often be dealt with by simply punting them away much like one would kick a football. Goblinoids are eusocial creatures, living in colony families in groups of up to thirty members with a decently well structured family system, similar to that of mole rats and crows. These families are led by an alpha and omega Patriarch and Matriarch, who act as the sole breeding pair for any one group.

Tamability: Goblinoids can be tempted with small trinkets, and it is possible to raise one from birth that will accept you as a leader and follow you around, but outside of that they make very poor pets due to their nocturnal lifestyle, desire to steal almost anything they can get their hands on for their hordes, and their desire to create a subterranean environment to live in.

Where is it found?: Planet Sanctus of the Sanctus System.

Rarity: They're fairly common along the western and southern portions of the continent of Domum on Sanctus, but have been found as far south as the major island of Kress and the northern portions of Diu. Its hypothesized that the Goblinoids made it to these landmasses by traversing a land-bridge which has since been submerged by rising sea levels. Sightings of Goblinoids have extended out further north following the establishment of permanent settlements on the world of Sanctus by members of the 'Glasses Gang', likely curious as to the developments made by these new inhabitants, and eager to dine from the trash they leave behind.

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: Goblinoids are opportunistic omnivores, and will generally eat just about anything they can get their hands on.

    Products?: Not much.

    Reproduction: Basic mammaloid sexual reproduction.

Size: 2'5" to 3'2" tall, often comparable to large footballs with limbs.

Weight: 32-56lbs, though some that have set up colonies near Sanctusian residents have become rather obese individuals, the heaviest found being 98lbs.

    Lifespan: Up to 27 years.

    Abilities:
    • Due to their nocturnal and subterranean behaviors, they have rather adept senses, with low-light vision and reflective membranes similar to tapetum lucidum found in other nocturnal mammaloids.
    • They possess rather strong claws, allowing them to burrow through the ground efficiently.
    • A rather painful bite, if they have enough teeth to bite very well.
    • Intelligence on the level of other eusocial creatures such as corvid birds and colony moles, basic sentience.
    • Tough skin, can handle rather cold temperatures.
    Flaws:
    • Their curiosity and obsession with shiny/interesting objects can lead to them being easily fooled by a more intelligent being that can take advantage of them.
    • Easily made upset.
    • Not very threatening to most species when in small groups or alone.
    • Their sensitivity to bright lights can allow them to be stunned with bright flashes.
    Other: They're Coming
