Name: Rapture, Euphoria, MDMA 2 Description: An iridescent purple liquid or vapor often stored in glass vials for use in an atomizer or inhaler. Abilities: Causes intense feelings of pleasure, lethargy, synesthesia, and a desire for intimacy for two hours upon consumption, beginning one minute after use. Conditional abilities: Causes pleasant, vivid dreams that can be remembered with ease if a user sleeps while under the effect of the drug. Taking multiple doses increase the strength of the effects substantially, leading many to take several hits in a single sitting. Limitations: After all of the effects of Rapture wear off, a user will experience lethargy, chills, drowsiness and feeling of loss for four hours. Conditional limitations: Rapture is highly addictive, using it more than twice a week will cause a mental dependency on the drug, requiring at least one dose to be taken a week or they will begin to suffer one, or more, effects of withdrawal; which include depression, anxiety, insomnia, intense nightmares, loneliness, and mood swings. Overdose is an uncommon- but often enough occurrence while using Rapture due to it's addictive qualities. Taking more than four doses while the drug is in someone's system will cause the following effects; variation in heart rate, severe headaches, nausea, intense weakness, and in extreme cases permanent alterations to color perception. How does it work: The drug functions based on research into already existing drugs that cause similar sensations, refining on the mechanisms they use in order to accurately concentrate on the primary vision cortex in the brain, causing synesthesia. A byproduct toxin is released when the body begins to metabolise the drug, and this toxin stimulates the release of oxytocin, causing the secondary effects.
