Name: Plasmoid Incapacitation Grenade, Pig, Novafucker, Shellbreaker Description: A small, cylindrical grenade with a handful of visible powercells and a pin. Art by Theo Mills Abilities: Upon detonation, all Novakids and beings of similar biology suffer an extremely painful seizure which lasts for three turns. Essentially an EMP but for plasma people. Conditional Abilities: Technically an EMP, but due to the technical changes it's far less effective than a standard EMP, only shutting down electronic devices for a single turn. Plasma beings who are hit by this suffer incredibly small, papercut-like injuries across their bodies. PIGs have anti-tampering hardware built into them. Attempts to disassemble them will cause them to go off, and in the process frying the components. Limitations: PIGs have a five meter range at most. Novakids wearing faraday suits or behind EMP hardened cover are immune to the effect. As with standard EMP grenades, the internals are fried after a PIG has been used. At that point being little more valuable than scrap metal. How does it work: PIGs are essentially a heavily augmented EMP, with the pulse itself has been fine tuned to primarily effect Novakids and similar lifeforms, disrupting the magnetism of their shells. The exact effect is a painful seizure and hundreds of micro-fractures across their shell. While the micro-fractures themselves aren't debilitating, it does cause small amounts of plasma to seep out which may harm anyone attempting to treat them. Hi! I had to ask GC's resident physicist about how magnetic interference worked before grading this one. Turns out that, yes, it is achievable in concept. Novakids also don't have many non-lethal options so it's okay from a balance point of view too, given its active for the same duration as a normal EMP. First pass.
