The Haven Times Yesterday marked one of the most tragic and unprecedented events of the year, and one that may prelude disaster: reports were received of a comet crashing into the planet of Dakka, home to the Dakkma species in the Southeastern quadrant of the Fringe. The planet of Dakka was a major headquarters for the Apex Revolution against the Miniknog. Soon after the comet crashed into Dakka, disaster struck. Tentacles began to jar from the ground as an infection rapidly spread, taking all in its grasp. The comet had contained mass belonging to the "Ruin", or the Tentabeast that had destroyed Earth only fourty years ago. The majority of the population of Dakka had perished, only 400,000 surviving due to aid from the Revolutionaries, New Margury, and the Haven Federation. The Haven Expeditionary Force was also involved, aiding the revolutionaries in helping evacuate the Dakkma. They were aided by an important Revolutionary leader, Lanus Blake, son of the late Revolutionary leader Lana Blake. The planet Dakka is now a mass of tendrils and flesh, not unlike Earth. Many people are claiming it is the end times, and that the Ruin will spread throughout the Fringe. There are also reports of various Humans coming out as members of the "Occasus", a Human-supremacist cult originating from the United Systems. In other news, Erchius mines are seeing more and more danger as the appearance of Erchius ghosts and other Erchioid creatures increase rapidly. Erchius exposure is becoming more potent and dangerous, and people are encouraged to stay away from Erchius fields. As a result of this, the price of Erchius per barrel has nearly doubled, hindering space travel for many.
