    Name: Gazers, Oculus Mortus

    Description:

(Similar as pictured above, but with more cyborg characteristics; robotic optics, mostly)

Gazers are semi-organic creatures, hovering balls of flesh with a single, large laser optic in the center followed by many small tendrils of smaller laser optics or other functions, with prehensile movement; they have a large mouth with several rows of razor sharp teeth. Though rarely used outside of feeding, the teeth can prove to be a valuable asset in the face of disabled optics or cut eye tendrils. It hovers from the ground with a cyborg hover module deep within its core, hidden under its thick bone cage by its large, singular lung.

The largest organ in their body is not its eye, but rather their brain; Gazers are intelligent beings, and could perhaps even have the level of awareness a human would if genetically modified at birth. Its many different eyes allow it a full 360 degrees of depth color vision from its eye tendrils. Its primary eye on its body is its most powerful, acting as an extremely powerful laser optic and a multifilter optic able to see in different types of infrared vision. As such, vision is the Gazer's most powerful tool, both in sensory and in damage.

Gazers were not always like this; their raw form is merely a rolling ball of flesh that fed on immobile carcasses in the Undercrypt, using its many eyes to see in the dark and spot them; however, the first Gravelord of the Undercrypt morphed them into something more useful, allowing others to do the same until they were conditioned to hate and kill.

Behavior: Gazers are solitary organisms, often roaming deep within desolate caverns or roaming dungeons to protect its master's loot, or simply to search for food; during various times of the day it will sleep for a few hours on end, for around three times a day. During its vigil it shall attack any creature lesser than it, whether it be for hunger, defense, or even animosity.

Tamability: A Gazer can only be tamed at a very young state, at least two years from its birth as the raw, unaltered creature; into its adult stage of life it will learn to be solitary, and cannot be tamed then.

Where is it found?: Gazers are found almost solely within the depths of the Undercrypt, acting as solitary hunters but usually as guardians of ruins long lost to time, trained forever to defend treasures within.

Rarity: Gazers are fairly rare in the Undercrypt, being powerful monsters that have the ability to wreak havoc on its enemies.

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: After it kills its enemies with either its sharp fangs or its powerful lasers, the Gazer will simply feed on the meat for the energy it needs to use its lasers and hover module, as well as its muscle movement. Gazers eat plenty and have extremely strong stomach acids that gather whatever energy it can from corpses.

Products?: When killed, one could salvage its hover module and laser optics, as well as perhaps get some badass souvenirs.

Reproduction: gazers produce asexually, that is, they produce the raw, unaltered version of themselves; rolling hunks of flesh without the ability to shoot lasers. At around the end of its life, it will produce eggs inside the womb located at the back of its tongue, and then regurgitate it after approximately nine months, in which it will protect the eggs when they hatch in another month, and finally until it grows in two years to fend for itself.

Size: Gazers are very large creatures, much larger than a lone human, at adulthood. It is approximately a spherical shape with a diameter of 3 meters.

Weight: A Gazer can weigh up to 1,500 pounds when fully grown.

Lifespan: Raw Gazers can live up to 100 years, though cyborg Gazers are genetically modified to live to up to 900 years easily.

    Abilities:
Ability to hover as its movement, allowing easy maneuvering.

Central eye is a powerful laser optic. They also have different eyes that can have different effects (11 eyes typically, though usually only 5 are used at a time to preserve energy).

    • Laser Optic - The most commonly used weapon, the eye simply charges up with a glow and then blasts out a powerful laser of whatever color it was built with.

    • EMP - One eye contains a small EMP device that fires a pulse in a small cone, allowing it to tamper with electronics; must cooldown for three combat turns.

    • Tractor Beam - Some eyes may contain weak tractor beams that can lift 20 pounds; more tractor beams may be used by different eyes in conjunction, allowing it to lift more.

    Flaws:

EMPs will severely hamper its abilities; most will simply disable its eye tendrils for a combat turn, though more powerful ones can leave the Gazer falling to the ground and uncontrollably blasting lasers to defend itself.

EMP eyes must be aimed carefully, or they may affect the Gazer's own eyes.

A Gazer cannot be in combat long, as even its large metabolic energy stores are not enough to account for constant usage of its energy weapons. As such, they will typically try and end battle as soon as possible with decimating attacks at once, with multiple eyes.

Has no inherent armor other than it skin. A well-placed bullet can pierce it brain and kill it.
