    Names: Gatatuti, Floaters, etc.

Description: Originally discovered by Avians, Gatatuti("Floater" in the Avosi) is a flying creature built similarly to a fish. Commonly coming in different shades of blue. Their face takes the form of a white "mask" on the front of their body. Behind this mask are a ring of fin-like limbs that are meant to capture air and allow it to flow with the current of the wind. On the other end of its body is a tail with another fin attached. This one meant to help it control itself. Curiously a large part of their body is devoted to a gland that produces natural helium.

Behavior: They drift along with the current of the wind, using their low weight to do such. Due to this they have very little control over which way they go. Generally they are carefree. And will not do anything different in the presences of humanoids unless they injure it.

Tamability: They are easily tamed just by putting it on a leash. Though they still give their owners no special attention.

Where is it found?: Anywhere with strong winds, preferring wet area, areas around villages, or both.

Rarity: Fairly common, though often solitary creatures.

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: Autotroph, using a process almost identical to photosynthesis to feed itself. The only real change is that helium is produced by the creature alongside the normal oxygen.

Products?: The natural helium it produces is effectively an infinite source, and it's mask is made of hard material similar to wood. The creature itself can be used as a mount if a fan is attached to the back of it.

Reproduction: Sexual reproduction, in which a male and female will race

Size: 3 feet tall, 6 feet wide.

Weight: Very light, only about 20 pounds.

    Lifespan: 25 years average.

    Abilities:
    -Floating
    -Natural Helium

    Flaws:
    -Can't harm you
    -Defenseless

Other: Open app if passed again. Just PM me first.

It takes a gatatuti mount somewhere like a year to properly learn how to handle a rider successfully. Assuming it is unmodified.

A gatatuti mount can only hold somewhere along the weight of 250 pounds before it is completely grounded, if someone 300 plus attempts to get on, the Gatatuti would be extremely injured from the weight.

    Hello @zecon125
I would like to state two things regarding Gatatuti, and it is currently pending.
First, matter cannot be created from nothing. This helium must come from a source, be it part of its natural diet or by extracting it from the environment. A simple fix.
Second, while I understand the creatures are large enough to ride on, what allows them to handle the extra weight of a rider that is certainly much heavier than it is? Assuming the one riding it weighs about as much as the average human.

The typical Gatatuti rider is an avian, weighing considerably less than other races does help them a lot. But a mount Gatatuti compensates for the extra weight by simply being containing much more of the helium it produces then a free floating one would. Some riders do choose to attach specially made suits to allow their mounts to achieve something closer to true flight, but these suits are quite expensive.
And the helium is made in similar way to how a tree makes oxygen.

Alrighty. Please edit this into the application, and perhaps add something along the lines of how long it takes them to adjust to lifting riders around as well as an estimated upper-limit of weight that they can't lift. Ping me once you've done that.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a frog? ...A frog? No! It's a Gatatuti!
I'll happily give these floating creatures a pass.
