[/b]Name of Aug/Tech: [/b]Black Blight, Black Miasma, Mist of Death, Decaying Cloud, [Negative Adjective]+[Symonym of Cloud/gas]

[/b]Description[/b]: Black Miasma appears as simply a thick cloud of black gas and dust that drifts mid-air in normal air concentrations; its smell is repugnant, similar to that of rot and death with an amount of ash scent as well. As it passes through and around organic matter, any plants and other living organisms around it begin to rot, giving it its name and terrible reputation.

[/b]History of Aug/Tech:[/b] The original nanomachines used in Black Miasma were first constructed by the Hylotl Empire in an effort to increase the efficiency of biofuel processing plants by using nanomedicine to decay organic matter to be processed. With the coming of the Floran-Hylotl war, however, the nanomachines were further improved and fixed into a deadly combination of smoky gases to be weaponized. This particular weapon proved effective against primitive Florans, as the payload containing the weapon could be delivered easily and could devastate the poorly protected Florans. Entire Floran jungles, forests, and tribes rotted from sweeping masses of Black Miasma; hundreds of Florans could be seen dead and rotted on the ground during the brutal target of Black Miasma, and some Florans today even bear the rot from surviving attacks of Black Miasma. Larger amounts of Black Miasma being used was then classified as a violation of sentient rights by the Hylotl Empire and the production of it was prohibited. The means and knowledge of synthesizing Black Miasma, however, were unfortunately at that point accessible knowledge, and can to this day be found sold in various black markets.

[/b]How does it work?:[/b]  Black Miasma uses a black mixture of many hazardous gaseous chemicals that work against organic matter to produce painful chemical burns and nausea as it concentrates the air further; when this gas is breathed in the victim's lungs and air canals are irritated, inducing tremendous pain, bouts of asphyxiation, coughing of blood, and in extremely prolonged cases, death by asphyxiation or lung failure within ten minutes. Nerve agents such as VX nerve gas is typically not used due to its lesser effects on non-human races.

The second harmful component of Black Miasma is concentrated clouds of nanomachines that resemble black gas; these nanomachines are called ‘Necrocytes', and work by using a debonding agent to attack cellular protein of any organic matter, inducing cellular necrosis on a large scale as masses of necrocytes touch the surfaces of organic matter, rotting skin and wilting plants in around five seconds in higher concentrations of Black Miasma, such as that in weapons. The final portion forming the necrocyte is an extremely small gravitic field generator that generates a gravitic field that acts as a tether to floating gas, using the combined gravitic force of the other necrocytes to pull the black gas with them as they move. As for movement, weaponized Black Miasma is typically programmed with the one simple function of moving towards necrocytes that have already begun to decay flesh, causing the clouds to diverge towards their targets after being deployed by payload means such as grenades or shells. Other targeting forms include a communication link between the user and the Black Miasma that allows simple movement of the gas, or simply allowing the gas to float wherever the wind may take it in order to spread the most, a method useful for disturbing ecosystems.

Thankfully, however, the deadly Black Miasma will disperse and remain immobile from a simple EMP, though its rotting function is still present but unable to seek targets, thus making it easily escapable.

Different means of deploying Black Miasma exist, whether it be via grenade, vial, shell, payload bullet, or even as a compressed, following cloud of gas

[/b]Intended use:[/b] Administering clouds of rotting miasma.

    [/b]Strengths[/b]:

    -
Rots and decays organic matter such as plant or animal matter in around 5 seconds.

    -
Black gas will burn and help decay skin, as well as causing severe medical issues when breathed.

    -
    Able to move in clouds.

    [/b]Weaknesses:[/b]

    -
    Movement dispersed by an EMP.

    -
    Does not affect inorganic life.

    -
Can only move up to 12 km/h.

    -   Only lasts for 5 minutes without processing organic matter. Power nanomachines convert biomass to energy.

[/b]How do you believe this will assist in benefiting roleplay?:[/b] A method of biological weaponry, which does not see much use. And while not as effective as other things, the psychological effect is big.
