Name: Bastion Assault Shield, Bash Shield, Gravitic Assault Aegis, GAA

Description: A bastion shield is any variety of large shield that has been constructed or modified to allow similar electronic components to most Gravity Weapons.- Such as gravitic channels and power cells.
. . Activating a Bastion Assault Shield is done by charging forward and engaging its electronics, causing the shield to pick up speed and carry the wielder along for the ride. Once engaged, the charge may only stop when something is hit, or two turns are spent disengaging the module and pulling back against it.
. . As to be expected, very little course correction is possible after the charge begins.

    Abilities:
    - Allows a user to ‘bull rush’, continuously gaining speed in a straight line. Every turn the charge continues, it gets slightly faster until it comes to a catastrophic stop. Generally, shields max out at a maximum possible speed of around 32mph. Getting to this speed takes about four turns.
    - - Being hit with this is comparable to being hit by a truck going 30mph, for both parties involved.
    - - If not interrupted, this can continue for about five minutes. This rarely happens.

    Conditional Abilities:
    - Unlike other technology that increases speed or mobility, the weight cap for the Bastion Assault Shield is around 400lbs.
    - The front of the shield may be modified for additional effects, with spikes being a very popular choice.
    - If you time it right, you can do really sick long jumps.

    Limitations:
    - A ‘bull rush’ can only stop if it impacts a person or item, or two turns (twelve seconds if not in combat) are spent pulling back against it.
    - You may only do slight course corrections while in a ‘bull rush’, moving generally in a straight line.
    - The user is not the one propelling the shield, the shield is dragging them behind. Untrained users often find themselves stumbling, tripping, or otherwise eating dirt. In the worst cases, it is possible for the shield to rip its user’s arm off.
    - If you are hit by a gravity weapon while charging, both items come to a dead stop and the kinetic force blasts both parties back several feet.
    - A 'bull rush' can only be engaged while the user is running.

    Conditional Limitations:
    - Rough terrain is not a friend of a Bastion Assault Shield, often diverting the charge directly into the floor.
    - Most Bastion Assault Shields aren't vulnerable to EMPs, but some are. If a vulnerable shield is EMP'd, it almost always leads to the user crashing directly into the ground.
    - If you let go of the shield for any reason, it slams into the ground full force.

How does it work: Gravitic channels in the shield engage when rushing forward, continuing the action in much the same way as a Gravity Hammer might. The process only stops when the device is manually turned off, and the remaining speed canceled out by its user, or the subsequent impact.

Flavor text: Commonplace in most modern Glitch settlements, Bastion shields have been around for a long time. Most recently they have been recreated by OR-43/70459 “Creep” of the Forlorn Legion, being the Forlorn’s first foray into gravity tech.
