Name: Asura, Asura Cybernetic Strength Suite, A.C.S.S., Smasher Suit, Exo-Cybernetics, Half-Synth Conversion, Cybernetic Super Soldier

    Description:
Asura cybernetics are a full-body replacement of all limbs, bones, muscle, and many organs to enhance the general durability and strength of a user. This typically appears visually as a general ‘bulk up’, more visible muscle definition and an all around size increase of an individual, alongside a number of visible ‘lines’ running across the synthetic flesh.

    Abilities:
Durability: The general replacements of various limbs, muscle, and organs with enhanced versions made up of a strong composite makes someone using an Asura incredibly durable. Small arms fire of both energy and ballistic such as pistols, SMGs, and shotgun pellets while not being ineffective, are strongly resisted. Most ballistics will fail to cause any damage, and only repeated hits in the same region from an energy weapon will cause damage. (15-20). This is less effective once medium firearms such as rifles come into play, only slightly resisting the damage enough to allow for a user to enter cover. (3-5 impacts). And if large firearms are used there is no resistance at all, most able to penetrate or melt with ease. (0-1 impacts). Blades and blunt impacts suffer similarly against Asura cybernetics, any non-plasma or vibroblade being ineffectual at causing notable damage, and without extreme force behind blunt impact such as gravity weaponry there is unlikely to be notable damage as well. The numbers provided are not a hard rule, but offer a good reference point for damage if necessary.

Strength: An Asura increases a user’s strength by an incredible amount, the closest comparison being seen in military-grade combat exo-suits. This gives someone using an Asura the ability to attack with incredible force, and gain the ability to lift roughly four times their body weight post augmentation.

    Conditional Abilities:
    Explosive Resistance:
Asura has partial resistance to explosives, though typically only grenades. Anything large, such as a rocket, or an actual bomb, will have substantially more damage inflicted. Still less than someone without Asura, but not by too large a margin. It’s entirely likely that someone may still die when damaged to such a degree. This resistance also applies to the synthetic organs, offering them resistance from concussive impacts.

    Limitations:
    Near-Permanence:
The process of installing an Asura onto a person is incredibly invasive. Bones, limbs, and muscles are entirely replaced with advanced synth-muscles with armored coatings. Many organs are replaced with bionic equivalents meant to last longer under heavy damage. All of these changes mean one thing; that when someone chooses to undergo the procedure to be augmented with an Asura, it’s almost certainly permanent. While it’s possible for a brain transplant, it’s far easier to simply be brain scanned into a new body.

Size: Due to the amount of additional armor composites and general size of the mechanical systems used to grant an Asura the level of strength and durability, users are increased in size by roughly 1.2x. An example being, a Human of five feet in height before being augmented with an Asura, would end up around six feet tall with size increases proportionally across their entire body.

Weight: The weight of the various augmentations that make up an Asura is immense, the varying systems and replacements altering a user’s weight dramatically. The weight of the cybernetics can roughly be calculated with the following formula. For every inch of height add five pounds, once you have this number multiply by 1.2x to account for increased body width, the end result is the total weight of a person augmented with an Asura. This of course means that in all but the lightest of species, most movement technology such as Lynx and Energy Dash are unuseable for rapid traversal.

Electro-Magnetic Susceptibility: While an Asura offers great benefits, and incredible strength. It falls to the age-old counter to cybernetics and machines alike; Electro-Magnetic Pulses. The composites that make up an Asura, as well as the sheer amount of cybernetics present, are unable to be properly shielded. An EMP will lock down an Asura user into a state of total stillness, blindness, overall sensory deprivation, and a sensation of asphyxiation for twelve seconds (three turns), afterwhich, four seconds (a turn) must be taken for an Asura’s systems to reboot.

Speed Limit: Like most augmentation that increases durability, users of Asura often find themselves at a somewhat reduced movement speed. Only brief bursts of full sprinting can be done with the augmentation, otherwise the fastest an Asura can move is around the speed of a brisk jog. These bursts are typically the beginning of movement, but can't be sustained.

    Conditional Limitations:
    Sinking Rock:
Asura Cybernetics have zero buoyancy, sinking rapidly in almost all fluids without any source of prevention. Outside tools and objects may be used to prevent this, but on its own, an Asura will sink, no matter what.

Integrated Weaponry: Asura Cybernetics have no room or space for separate weaponized augmentation from the amount of strength and reinforcement that must be applied. However, certain augmentation such as the Cronos implant and other non-weaponized augmentation can still be installed.

Medical Care: The durability of Asura Cybernetics does have an issue, however. Injuries taken can't easily be tended to in the field due to how difficult it is to remove the armor and operate on the replacements. Additionally, typical medical aid is not what would be primarily required unless an injury to the brain occurred. Instead, cybernetic or synthetic experts would be needed.

    How does it work:

Asura Cybernetic Strength Suites are made up of a various number of reinforced augmentation all brought together in a single package, and working in tandem. Total replacement of standard muscle and bone with reinforced synth-muscle and synth-bones provide additional strength, coupled with mechanical backing. While the skin is made up of a strong and thick layer of armored composites to provide durability against energy and kinetic fire. Finally, bionic organs are introduced to ensure durability and continued operation when circumstances might otherwise cause them to be crushed or overworked.

    Flavor text:
An inevitable creation of Lotus' cybernetics research division, the Asura is the latest in full-body prosthetic enhancements for those with enough money to toss around on high-end augmentation. The suite itself is marketed as having the capabilities of a military-grade exosuit in strength and durability, with the added benefit of internal enhancements and replacements to all organs, granting an overall increase to survivability. This of course comes with a hefty trade-off; the augmentation is near-permanent, requiring very expensive surgery or a brainscan and upload to remove it.

When it comes to the maintenance aspect of cybernetic enhancements, however, Asura has upsides and downsides. Any cyberneticist can maintain another person's Asura augmentation, however the parts and time will be more expensive and subpar compared to visiting a Lotus facility. However, as with all Lotus technology, attempts at reverse engineering will lead to failure, cybernetic shutdown, and a loss of warranty.

All in all, the ASURA is scheduled to be launched alongside the rest of Lotus' recent developments as a powerful tool for those invested in security. What's left unsaid, of course, is that the company is willing to augment anyone with the money to pay- even parties that may have an unpleasant reputation.

Attainability: [Semi-Closed] This augmentation is only available from the Lotus Cybernetics Company.

While I'm aware that this is all things that could be covered under Engineered Lifeform lore, I thought it'd be best to have a codified application to reference than to leave it vague and unspecific.

Hi! I'm your first grader today. Pending. Overall, this looks like (as you've commented) things permitted under Engineered Lifeform lore. However, since we're getting into the nitty-gritty, there are a few details I want to iron out.

'Durability' should be specified. How many shots from the different weapon types and classes can it take? For reference, shield-belts can take 3-5 pistol shots, 1-3 rifle shots, and 1 sniper rifle shot before breaking. This is also the general rule for carrier plates of non-specific armor composite.

'Explosive resistance' is interesting. What makes them more resistant than normal body-armor? This does ALSO increase your survivability, after all. Is limb loss still likely?

In line with both of these questions, how is maintenance on the suite? Do they need regular maintenance from specialized crews, or can this be performed on one's own? When parts break, how hard is it to come by replacements? The 'plates' that get shot are probably the biggest risk factor.

And with those questions, how hard is it to provide medical care to someone with the suite? Does it have (potentially exploitable in combat) quick releases on the more difficult to cut through components for surgery, ect? If not, it might be another conditional limitation - that having the suite installed might turn your body into a coffin in the hospital after a critical injury managed to get through.

The conditional limit Integrated Weaponry caught my attention. Is this for full-body? Is the head also armored up and replaced? If it is, then there's the question of if optical implants are common with it (and all the pros and cons they bring). And if not, then the head becomes a notable vulnerability in the suite.
