    Name: Anchorwoods, Stabilizers, Stabilitas lignorum

Description: Anchorwoods are gigantic, crystalline ‘trees’ of midnight black hue with hexagonal trunks and white ‘leaves’ made up of a salt-like material. Its branches sprout from every level of its surface, which regrow after around two months when broken off.

Behavior: It’s basically a tree, sitting there and eating until it eventually reproduces.

    Tamability: It’s basically a tree.

Where is it found?: Typically only around Ancient ruins, though over the passage of time some may have eventually grown elsewhere due to other species scavenging.

Rarity: Extremely rare, primarily found in locations near Ancient ruins, though some can be found elsewhere due to accidental spread or brief Ancient projects that were abandoned.

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: Anchorwoods passively absorb ultraviolet radiation for sustenance over the course of their lives.

Products?: The crystalline ‘wood’ of Anchorwoods and their branches have unique properties when interacting with ECF and Cuil Flux. This will be covered in a technological application due to its abilities. Their leaves also are a decent equivalent to salt.

Reproduction: Anchorwoods are completely asexual. Once they reach maturity, dozens of golden crystalline ‘seeds’ sprout from its branches every five years. At that point, they wait until something causes them to no longer be in contact with their ‘parent’. After this happens, a seed begins to absorb ultraviolet radiation to grow into an Anchorwood.

Size: Anchorwoods can grow to around one hundred meters of height at most.

Weight: Around two million pounds at maturity.

Lifespan: Anchorwoods have no limit on upper age as long as they aren’t destroyed, however it takes around a century for one to reach maturity.

    Abilities:

The ECF within a certain radius of an Anchorwood can not raise above 1‽, the range is dependent on its age. This radius begins at ten years and ten meters, and increases to a maximum of one hundred meters at full maturity.

Psionic abilities require a higher flux expenditure to use within the same radius Anchorwoods prevent the rising of ECF. This effectively doubles the Flux cost of psionic abilities

    Flaws:

    It’s basically just a tree.

Anchorwoods are relatively fragile in comparison to standard trees. A hard enough impact will cause fracturing- and potential shattering of its entire structure.

Anchorwood trees can't be cloned by modern methods, as the precursor bioengineering that made them possible is too advanced to replicate.

Other: Anchorwoods were designed as a self-replicating stabilizing influence against Anomaly by the Ancient precursors.

OOC Note: Unless you are a member of staff, please consult me if you wish to have an Anchorwood somewhere. They are not overly common.

After some discussion about cloning potential, pass.
