    Description:
Six-legged, plated and furred mammalian carnivores, the Speriac genus consists of large predators with piercing tails, retractable claws, acute senses and dorsal armor plates. The largest of its kind, known in Common as a "Black Thunderspine", is an apex predator in its particular environment, that being the thick fungaflora jungles of Arcoszard. Its fur is a deep black color, with plates and tail-horn of a black-grey color.

    Behavior:
Usually wary of sapients, and possessed of an uncanny intelligence, the Zy'ong'ir are largely unseen when approached in the wild. However, there are tamed breeds; these are generally more aggressive toward sapients and animals alike, except for those who they know well such as their trainers. Smaller domesticated breeds of smaller species can even be affectionate, and are actually fairly common pet animals, akin to a housecat. It hunts armored prey by "stinging" it with its piercing tail, then ripping into the newly-formed chinks in the armor with powerful forelimbs and claws. Unarmored prey will still generally be impaled on its tail and then slaughtered from there.

    Tamability:
Due to their intellect, fairly tamable, though wild examples can often be wily or difficult to tame. Domesticated or tamed breeds are easier.

    Where is it found?:
Dependent on species, Zy'ong'ir can be found either in Arcoszard's cities or out in surrounding jungles.

    Rarity:
The largest species of Zy'ong'ir is fairly rare, and the smallest domesticated species is exceedingly common within cities.

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy:
    Obligate carnivore.

    Products?:
    Violence or affection.

    Reproduction:
As expected from something of its appearance and mammalian nature.

    Size:
The largest species can range from 8'-12' from the tip of their nose to the tip of their tail.

    Weight:
Around 400lbs. for the largest species.

    Lifespan:
    Usually around 20-30 years.

    Abilities:
Very strong. An armor-piercing tail. Armored back. Good senses of hearing, smell and sight.

    Flaws:
Somewhat sensitive nose if punched. Mostly unarmored.
