// An article is spread through the Nexus, originating on a Rantori-Civspace news network // // Breaking News! - Unknown 'Vessel' Appears in the Outer Rim! // Earlier today, dozens of deep-space probes of all racial and corporate makes reported the -sudden- existence of a massive new object in the system of the GXLB491 'Sume' system in the orbital range of the gas giant 'Gilgamesh'. Many groups then jumped to the system to investigate, the ships finding something intriguing, but also incredibly-terrifying. --Unknown vessel, taken by private pilot Arden Maverik-- The unidentified vessel was approached and hailed, but no response was given. The massive ship, reaching an absolutely gigantic 21km, dwarfs any ships currently fielded by any known force in the galaxy, the armored exterior reported to be immune to attempts to collect any samples, even bleeding-edge cutting tools unable to penetrate the strange metal. There were no entrances open to any drones, not even gunports, strangely enough. The armor is made of a strange composite steel of unknown make, dated to over twenty thousand years old, though with a few select parts of the front of the ship was dated to over six million years old. You read that correctly. 6 million. There's no telling how old the ship is, or who's piloting it, except one eerie hint. As one research team apparently attempted to cut into the ship's massive hangar doors to gain entry, the ship powered up, and a single transmission was sent from within the ship. A scratchy, corrupted, unclear recording would growl out, the voice behind the white noise deep and unclear. ----- The transmission was picked up on several unused radio frequencies, and struggled to connect to nearby playback and recording devices. What was said is unclear, though what is clear enough is that the language spoken is nothing on record, and with such a small sample size, there's little hope of translating it, even for us on Kamdor. The ship, nicknamed the 'Kraken' by several visiting Hylotl researchers on Kamdor who were watching the event unfold. Soon after this transmission, the ship opened what seemed to be an anomalous 'tear' between Realspace and Hyperspace, though even the Visitant scouts that peered into the rip in reality didn't find their home peering back at them. Readings would indicate that this tear, dubbed a 'Rift' by the CCXR (Collective Center for Xenology Research - Rantori Collective) of Kamdor, was a portal into Hyperspace, but Hyperspace folded in on itself exponentially. No matter what it was, the monstrosity of a ship entered the Rift, the tear closing up behind it, leaving no trace but a massive explosion of radiation that EMP'd nearby ships... But also pushed back several cloud layers of the gas giant Gilgamesh, the planet the ship was orbiting. This revealed something incredibly-interesting to scientific minds all across the galaxy, an ancient mining station that fits the architecture and design of the ruins within the jungles here on Kamdor! If these ruins are truly connected to the station, it would mean another piece to the puzzle of who came before us all. Reports on what happened on the station are blurry at best, but we were able to acquire an image of the station, a still-functioning bio-dome that hosted both a power-harvesting station, as well as an interesting environment within. ((This, but covered in grasses, vines, trees, and other flora. An overgrown jungle.)) The core at the middle of the facility is an anomaly in itself, floating suspended over a lake in the middle of the sixteen towers surrounding it. The energy readings coming off of it were astronomical, yet there is no apparent was of harvesting what is stored within it, the spinning rings around the core keeping the core stable.
