Name: Torments Description: A metallic skull, usually electroplated ferozium or aegisalt, suspended in a cloud of ionized gasses entangled with phase matter, decorative lights in the eyes give an intimidating stare. Ereban Torments usually appear as though they have blue or green flames coming from their skull, and the skulls are often bleach-white, mimicking organic skulls Borean Torments look as though ice and snow is coming off the skull, or "cold" fire, ice blue in coloration or bright white. Skulls look more orc or giant-like, with large bottom canine teeth and pronounced foreheads Djaran Torments are perhaps the most dangerous of all, covered in thick layers of desert glass that they've heated with their particle beam weaponry, they are built with defenses, and look like monstrous skulls hewn from the sand itself. Built into them are ZPEM devices which, when utilized, can whip up sandstorms around them, utilizing the dunes of their environment as dangerous weapons meant to hide the treasures they were built to protect. Tartaran Torments look as though red and orange fire come from them, and can have chunks of heated rock and ash suspended in the phase matter. Skulls are blackened with ash and typically have fang-like teeth and horns, almost like a demon's skull. Spoiler: Torments Behavior: Torments wander ruins aimlessly, attacking intruders based on the scanners installed in their optics. Anything that isn't registered as the creator is attacked. Occasionally they may lay on the ground and go into a rest state, but quickly awaken if they detect that an intruder is nearby. Tamability: Untamable save for if you are programmed as their master/creator. Where is it found?: Originated as a means of defending loot in the Undercrypt, but they can be anywhere that treasure is kept. Rarity: Fairly uncommon, mostly popular in Erebus for obvious reasons. Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: They are built with a powerful battery cell which gives them as much energy as required for their lifespan, but they can be recharged if needed, though it is difficult to do this if you are not registered as a master. Products?: The metallic skull can make an interesting trophy. Small bits of phase matter, though the ionized gas is lost upon death. If the hardware and software isn't too damaged upon being killed, they can be repaired and used by those who take them. Reproduction: Each Torment is built for a purpose. Size: The skull is usually about the size of a human skull, can be slightly larger or smaller depending on desired shape and design. The length of their phase matter flare can be up to a meter and a half. Weight: Typically about 1 to 4kg. Lifespan: The battery cell can last for up to 150 years if undamaged and if the Torment isn't forced to exhaust extra power defending itself. Abilities: -Can fire a particle beam from their mouth, works as a weak energy projectile -Can soar around at speeds up to 15mph -Can burn a target by forcing them into the cloud of ionized gas in their phase matter -Can scan humanoids with ENDI scanners built into their eyes -Weak ZPEMs keep their additional weight inside the phase matter cloud and allow for small objects under 3kg to be thrown and manipulated up to a distance of 2 meters from the skull -Can bite a person or gore them with horns Flaws: -Is just a skull, someone could use a melee weapon to send them flying or crush them -Parts of the phase matter around them can be blown away by powerful gusts, but the ZPEM usually keeps most of it together -Just a skull. Even though they are made of metals like ferozium or aegisalt, they can typically be blasted by medium-caliber arms, and unless they are ferozium, plasma and particle beams melts through it like most metals -Aren't terribly intelligent usually, keep to their "territory", as set by their master, so they don't wander too far from treasure Other: As with all bestiary applications for the Undercrypt, if attempting to bring them to a place outside of the Undercrypt, particularly in general RP, please try to have a valid reason for having it be outside of the Undercrypt.
