    New Auckland
    [IMG]

    Planet Name: New Auckland (Chatham-2)

Environment: New Auckland is a lush, cold highly habitable world known for its arrangements of its three large continents, and its rolling hills of yellow, to red trees and flora with an atmosphere similar to that of Earth. Most cities and smaller towns lay within its large temperate zones with temperatures ranging from 18-26C dotted by mountainous ranges and coastal beach settlements. Rainfall is frequent and common, with snowfall gripping the icy northern continent of Wellington.

Resources: Transition and rarer metals create the bulk of Auckland’s exports, alongside lumber and farming operations.

    Population Size: 600,000

Settlements: Auckland’s population is largely human, built-up of part of the original settlers and their children but also refugee populations of Earth, with immigrants in between. Avians, and Apex refugees both make up the largest of alien populations, with Hylotl and Glitch coming in as a close second. Novakids are a small rarity, though not totally unfound. With New Auckland’s common trade exports found going to the NTA, they can be found amongst the industrial sectors.

Amongst its trio of three large continents, population centers are spread out from Kaikoura, the capital, to the Plains District, the smallest population center as of today. The planet is unified under three governmental districts, with elected representatives of each coming together to form a democratic council. These districts are Kaikoura, Wellington, and Plains. These districts appear to be rather stable, and free of notable conflict, due in part the focus on economic gains through trade.

Backstory Permissions: Semi-closed (Please contact TurnWall or Silver Gallium for character creation)

Notes: The districts of both Kaikoura and Wellington offer excellent home package opportunities, with the former’s newly established southern coastal estates. Official language is Galactic Common.

Local Environment: The first settled area, and current capital of New Auckland. Kaikoura is a lush yellow continent known for its coastal towns, various resorts and export of wine and crop with an underwater expansion well-underway. A somewhat mild climate, it is kissed by rainfall within the warmer months. Rolling hills form its terrain, joined by picturesque mountain ranges, and long beaches.

Resources: Kaikoura sees little export of metals, but a large boon in crops, and wind power generation.

Settlements: The largest city and capital here is Kaikoura Peake. The beating epicenter of commerce, business and industry for the planet, it houses many of the headquarters of Auckland’s corporations and businesses. As also being the home of the government’s headquarters and legal courts.

Though a smaller city by many standards, it holds the planet’s economy, and its largest sprawl, dotted with various apartment blocks, vertical farms, and the expected urban infrastructure. The city possesses the planet’s biggest center for entertainment, technology, and the iconic University of Kaikoura upon its outskirts all gleaming under the sun with their white towers and yellow-purple plants.

Other landmarks in the city region include the Te Reo Museum, a VR-enhanced museum dedicated to the preservation of Earth’s cultures, featuring a collection of Maori art and artifacts. The Hamilton Coast, known for its wide-stretching yellow sands, the aforementioned Kaikoura University, and the Marina Circuit; New Auckland’s premier Anti-Gravity Racing Circuit.

Travelling more inland from Kaikoura’s bustling capital, one can find Hamilton, the second most-populated city of Kaikoura with a relaxed atmosphere, known for its great shopping areas and a growing housing estate more along the coast. Other smaller towns in the region include Arcadian Sunrise, Acrreton, and Gisbourne. These smaller towns are surrounded by verdant farmland and paddocks, intertwined with wineries in the region of Acrreton, all offering tourists their own unique experiences.

Notes: Entrance into the region is gained through the Southland Spaceport, travellers are advised to provide a passport or identification, though these are not explicitly required. The TeleNet teleporter network operated within the District is operated via the usage of a TeleCard, tourists and visitors are provided with these upon clearance through a spaceport free of charge. Usage of streetside TeleKiosks is not guaranteed without one of these cards, and such kiosks cannot be teleported to from an orbiting vehicle, only from larger spaceports and other TeleKiosks. Hovertaxis and other forms of modern public transport run around the clock to move travellers and citizens about, skipping the need for teleporter queues.

Local Environment: Chilly, and often blanketed in snow, Wellington is a harsh, and cold land that features an arctic climate with northern regions facing long winters and extreme cold snap periods. The interior regions face a subarctic climate where temperature extremes are often found. The east is joined by the Harper Plains, and namesake glaciers, to which the former technically counts a desert.

Resources: Trace and rare minerals. Largest exports are bulk seafood, fish and crustaceans analogues

Settlements: Its largest city, and current capital, is the small town of Northland. Boasting a population in the upper 70K region, it allows tourists a winter experience within its snug small town feel. Such opportunities are excellent ski ranges, mountaineering and even visits to the native wisp nests tucked in the chilliest parts with various shops to be found in the town.

In-town Northland landmarks include the Visitor Hub, Frostlane Ice Rink, and the Wellington Theater that showcases various Auckland-made and international performances. Cafes and hotels make up a notable portion of businesses in Northland, attracting those from all around.

The town of Northland is often championed as the “Home of Robotics” for Auckland, as it houses the headquarters of many of its robotics firms such as Ghylith Robotics, and ToyTronics. The former even hosts the planet-wide annual “Tinker Comp”, a competition dedicated to young and upcoming roboticists where they produce an automaton to present, and potentially win prizes for.

Notes: Entrance into the region is gained through the Northland Spaceport, travellers are advised to provide a passport or identification, though these are not explicitly required.

    Planet Name: New Auckland (Chatham-2)

    Location Name: Plains District

Location on Planet: East of Kaikoura

Local Environment: Plains possesses a rather flat geography, with rolling grass fields, deserts, and mesas. It features a warmer arid climate than its brethren, with various grazing animals living within its borders.

Resources: Plains holds the largest exports of trace and rare minerals, with animal products coming as a close second.

Settlements: Most of the population of Plains lives within the city of a shared namesake, a small city, known most for its sporting fields and zoo. It is a sparsely populated region, with smaller towns dotting the District. It is the industrial backbone of the planet, featuring a series of mines, and factories.

Notes: Entrance into the region is gained through the Westland Spaceport, travellers are advised to provide a passport or identification, though these are not explicitly required.

    Other System Worlds
System Order: Chatham > Ruamoko > New Auckland (Chatham-2) > Maui

    Artist

    Planet Name: Ruamoko

Environment: Named after a god from ancient Maori mythology, Ruamoko is a tidally locked rock world close to its star Chatham. Upon its poles exist numerous solar array farms, established after the post-war trade boom for the system.
Resources: Transition metals, and rare metals make up the bulk of this small planet’s exports, with solar farms making up a secondary grouping.

    Population Size: 450~.

Settlements: Ruamoko’s surface is dotted with various mining outposts and solar array farms housing its worker populations.

Backstory Permissions: Semi-closed (Please contact TurnWall or Silver Gallium for character creation)

Notes: Surface is totally lifeless, thanks to a lack of a proper atmosphere, and is rather unremarkable aside from its pockmarked crater-filled landscape. Due to its closeness to its sun, and hostility of its landscape, it has gathered little interest for further development aside from extra mining.

    Planet Name: Maui

Environment: Named after another Polynesian deity, Maui is a typical hydrogen-helium gas giant, it boasts a wondrous blue hue thanks to traces of methane in its atmosphere.

    Resources: Helium-3, trace methane.

    Population Size: 300~

Settlements: Population is spread through-out orbital stations for mining.

Backstory Permissions: Semi-closed (Please contact TurnWall or Silver Gallium for character creation)

Notes: Dubbed a strong hub for helium-3 mining, it was the starting point of human interest in the system during the late 3170’s.
    Moon Name: Masterton
Environment: An unremarkable terrestrial rocky moon, Masterton’s lifeless surface is dotted with various geographical formations such as craters, valleys, and mountains.
    Resources: Transition metals, crystal erchius
    Population Size: 600~
Settlements: Mining outposts, erchius refueling depot.
Backstory Permissions: Semi-closed (Please contact TurnWall or Silver Gallium for character creation)
Notes: Masterton is the system’s home erchius fuel depot, established in the later 3190’s alongside early colonisation of Chatham. Due to its poor atmosphere no natural life is present.

    Moon Name: Ruke
Environment: Ruke, the second major moon of Maui is said to be a dangerous little world. Covered in silicate-spewing volcanoes, it is the most geographically active world of the system thanks to tidal heating.
    Resources: Trace minerals.
    Population Size: N/A
    Settlements: None.
    Backstory Permissions: Uninhabited
Notes: Thanks to its dangerous landscape and dryness of its surface Ruke has gathered little interest for potential further development. Though, it is known its volcanoes might provide some sort of energy, and minerals in its composition. Its thin atmosphere is largely composed of methane and nitrogen.
