ame: Ricochet Gun Mod Description: "He whomst miss his shot, shalt have chance again." --- Ricochet Gun Mods are, quite simply, gun modifications that allow rounds fired from it to bounce, or ricochet, off multiple surfaces. Guns normally always ricochet, but chip and fragment and have their velocity stunted. However, with the power of gravitic and wave manipulation, Ricochet Gun Mods allow a round to bounce off a hard surface, losing only a small fraction of its velocity in the process. The actual mod itself is simply a high-tech piece of equipment designed to be embedded somewhere into the chamber, and as such it is usually built into the gun itself or modded in later. Abilities: Causes rounds fired to reflect off hard, (relatively) flat surfaces until they hit a valid target or bounce 5 times. Works with most type of guns, even laser or plasma guns. Metametallic interior plating allows virtually infinite charge via collection of leftover chamber energy during fire. Limitations: Only bounces 5 times, and each bounce causes a slight decrease in round velocity. For energy weapons, each bounce dissipates a little bit of energy to the environment, making the fifth bounce only about 2/3rd its original effectiveness. Will be permanently disabled by an EMP. Easier to repair than is to make, however. Slightly decreases muzzle velocity or wattage. Conditional Limitations: You can hit yourself. How does it work: The modded mechanism within the chamber or barrel will, when the gun is fired, use a capacitor to generate a strong gravitic field around the round and lock onto it. When the round impacts a hard, flat surface, the field will cause the bullet to rebound from the surface, following the law of reflection, and dissipating a bit of the field until the fifth ricochet. This field can also surround plasma shells to perform the same function, or lock into the head of a laser beam to act as a mirror. Flavor text: The Ricochet Gun Mod was created long ago by the legendary Deadbeat Gunsmith of the Murder Cube, The Ammolitionist, as a means of bouncing bullets. Usage of this technology on a minigun resulted in the subsequent murder of an entire raider tribe as they proceeded to enter a small, closed chamber with the minigun sticking out the door.
