Name: Ranged Graviton Impartment (RGI) Weaponry

Description: Ranged Graviton Impartment weapons are a classification of gravity weapon which fires specially-charged gravitons at an adversary. Unlike concussion weaponry, they are typically more than capable of being lethal, and require a short delay before firing to prime the gravitons. At full charge, the weapon creates a shockwave that is comparable to an explosion. After doing such, the weapon requires a small delay to absorb gravitons from the environment.
. . . While charging, a RGI weapon creates a notable gravitational distortion in front of it, serving as both a warning and an aiming reticle. RGI weapons also get heavier when they are charged, due to the force of the gravitons contained within.

    Abilities:
    - Half-Charge: When half charged, RGI weapons deliver a fraction of their total kinetic potential. This is still dangerous to the target, but significantly less so than a full charge. The advantage of half-charging is the speed at which it can be performed, and the fact it does force the weapon to go on cooldown.
    - Full Charge: When fully charged, RGI weapons send out their full kinetic potential, creating an explosion at the point they are targeting
    - Calibers: Three distinct size categories of RGI weaponry exist: Light, medium, and heavy.
    - -
Light weapons fire the equivalent of pistol rounds when half-charged, with a full blast imparting the same rough kinetic force as a grenade. Typically, they can be held in one hand.
    - - Medium weapons fire the equivalent of rifle rounds when half-charged, and create the same shockwave as an RPG when fully charged. Medium weapons require two hands to operate, and significantly slow down the user when charging.
    - - Heavy weapons are equivalent to grenades when half-charged, with a full charge instead being comparable to an anti-tank mine. Heavy RGIs must be slung over the shoulder or stabilized with a tripod, and fully immobilize the user while being charged.

    Conditional Abilities:
    - Indefinite: An RGI's charge can be held indefinitely with no ill effects other than its weight.
    - Infinite Ammo: An RGI does not need to be reloaded, instead only having a short cooldown between fully charged shots. It does have a power source, but these have enough lifetime to last indefinitely in combat.

    Limitations:
    - Charge Time: To fully charge a light or medium RGI requires two turns, meaning that half-charging them can be performed in one turn. Heavy RGIs, however, require four turns to fully charge and two turns to half-charge.
    - Unsubtle: While charging, RGI weapons create an obvious distortion in the air where it is being aimed. A living target can feel this slight gravitational anomaly, making it obvious they are being aimed at. This effect can even be felt through some cover for heavy weapons.
    - Slow and Steady: When charging, primed gravitons artificially increase the weapon's weight. On light weapons, this is typically only visible as pseudo-recoil, but medium weapons half the speed of their user when being charged, and heavy weapons fully immobilize them under their weight.
    - Cooldown: After firing at full charge, an RGI weapon requires two turns to become operational again.

    Conditional Limitations:
    - Unstable: If the weapon is damaged while it is charging, it has the possibility of erupting in the user's hand. These unfocused shockwaves are more comparable to concussion guns than RGI weaponry in damage, but can still be dangerous to the user.
    - Heavy: Scrawnier users have reported great injury when attempting to use a heavy RGI that is slung over their shoulder.

How does it work: RGI weaponry works on the same fundamental principles that make concussion weaponry possible. The only major difference is that instead of firing out a burst of gravitons as-is at a target, Ranged Graviton Impartment weapons 'prime' the particles with excess energy, allowing them to be shot out at much faster speeds for much more devastating effects.

Flavor text: RGI weaponry was first developed by a prominent terror cell on Ociapex, who managed to find a way to make then-legal concussion weaponry into a lethal tool for the resistance. Following a successful attack on a Ministry of Knowledge laboratory, ownership of concussion weaponry has become strictly prohibited within Apex space.
