    Name: Repair Beams

Description: A Repair Gun's main component is a pack or other storage space that is used to hold the battery and the filler metal, typically pulverized durasteel or some other metal that would work as well as armoring. The gun itself appears to be a projector-like device that can be modified into a two-handed gun or even fitted onto a drone armature to create things such as ship repair drones. The beam itself appears as a swirling beam of dull red (though this effect can be modified) with gray particles running through it with a glow of red. The purpose of a Repair Beam is to use zero-point energy to deliver heated metallic particles onto another metal surface and shape it onto it and then cool it, being capable of repairing armors and the chassis of Glitch or other androids.

Other more expensive models may instead store the metal in a hammerspace module, so that it is less bulky.

    Abilities:
-Projects an energized tractor beam of metal particles onto a target, rapidly regenerating damaged armor or chassis in a matter of seconds. Range is 8 meters.

    Limitations:
-Battery limit is one hour, and metal will run out in about 25 combat turns of use. (On a full tank)
-Repair is only temporary, some major wounds requiring medical attention after the battle.
-Pack is bulky and heavy, making other larger weapons a hassle to carry.
-Cannot replicate certain metallic microstructures such as that of beam impervium.
-Metal particles are weaker than its surrounding armor due to heat, making it weaker structurally than the actual armor.

How does it work: Quite simply, the gun draws from the storage space of pulverized metal, heating it up to a mold-able form (hence the red glow of most devices) and projecting onto the repair target using zero-point energy, also using ZPE to press it onto the target and molding it to a desired shape calculated by a computer chip in the gun.

Flavor text: An invention by the Apex some hundred years ago as a means of smaller ship repair, Repair Beams have been put to use in drones, as well as two-handed versions that can heal Glitch, androids, and even power armor or vehicles on the battlefield, making it a useful support technology. (On the Modular Systems Lore for drones, this is covered by using a tractor beam with additional weight for a reservoir of metal, or a hammerspace module.)
