Name: Rebound Gel Description: Rebound Gel appears as a bright, purple colored gel-like liquid that reflects light easily. It easily ripples from touch and sound, and appears as gel-like. It will adhere to itself slightly, making it a slightly runny gel that will tend to adhere slightly to porous materials such as wood, but run freely on smooth metallic materials. To most materials it is waterproof, simply adhering to itself and sliding off of people unless it is lathered on deeply. Abilities: [*] Will cause any object falling on a puddle of it to bounce upwards at slightly less than the height the object was originally (around a foot difference). Each successive bounce will decrease the height bounced. [*] Can be lathered onto an object (or person) to cause them to bounce, same as above. [*] Can give a 4 m jump boost if jumped from. Conditional abilities: N/A Limitations: [*] Can only bounce as high as terminal velocity allows; that is, the maximum force it can output to bounce is slightly less than terminal velocity. Meaning the maximum height a bounce can be is ~60 m. This also means you can't bounce a bullet or other really fast object because it would be too small and too fast. [*] Washes away easily with a large amount of water, making it not work or at least hamper its effectiveness to a much lesser bounce. If completely washed away, expect a splat. [*] Can not be turned off. [*] Requires good balance and landing. Landing on your head will still, unsurprisingly, impart much of the force at an angle and easily snap your neck. [*] Does not support higher weighs well; up to 350 pounds will bounce as usual, though higher weighs will bounce at a less distance due to the added force. You cannot bounce a tank very well at all. Conditional limitations: [*] Toxic when consumed. How does it work: Rebound gel contains various types of rubber-like ferrofluids refined into a gel form, with added in metamaterials that directly redirect impact force near instantaneously into kinetic force outwards into the user, causing them to bounce; as is usual with redirections, some of the kinetic force is lost, which in combination with air resistance, causes the user to bounce slightly less than they jumped from with each jump. Designed to be used creatively, Rebound Gel can be lathered on a person's shoes to cause them to bounce (though can wash away with water), be dispensed with a gel sprayer, grenade, etc., for whatever purpose the user may need. Flavor text: Originally researched and produced by AkCorp Labs as a means of creating ballistics-resistant armor, the idea was eventually scrapped and converted instead into a bouncy gel that sold at only 60 pixels per liter.
