Name: - Raptorling Description: - The Raptorling is a large Avian Bird with a large wingspan that allows it to glide through the air. It's feathers come in a usual Brown to tanned color, though it's skin is orange, like a chicken. It's beak features a large amount of Sharp teeth that allows it to rip it's prey apart, with a barbed tongue to destroy any fur on the prey that wouldn't be able to rip off. It's Talons are very sharp, and allow it to tear small creatures to shreds, and defend themselves against larger birds or animals. The eyes of the Raptorling are are akin to Eagles or Hawks, though their magnitude of range is about 1.5x stronger, letting them see farther, and strike faster Behavior: - The Raptorling is a predatory bird that strikes first, asks questions later. If it sees any prey that it deems suitable for feasting upon, it will dive, screech, and plunge toward it's target to rip it apart with it's talons, or destroy it with it's razor sharp teeth. Once it has fed, the bird will either bring the rest of the animal toward it's nest to feed itself later, or feeds it's young. A raptor shares abit of curiosity with the Crow, as when it finds something shiny, it would take it towards it's nest to hoard it. Humans: Dive First, Eat Later Apex: Furry humans, dive in and attempt to kill it without a moment's notice Glitch: The Raptorling would become interested in a Glitch should it decide that it doesn't pose a threat. The Raptorling would attempt to fly low, and clank at it, before flying away if the glitch poses any harm. If it doesn't pose a threat to the Bird, the Raptorling may decide to follow it around for a while, before flying off in search of food. Novakid: The Raptorling's View towards the Novakids are a phenomenon, since they are usually seen pecking at the Nova's shoes, before staying by it for interest in it's sine, or it's glow. Raptorlings show a gentle side to the Novakid, and can be trained at a young age to become pets to them. Hylotl: The Raptorling would be turned off immediately by the slimy texture of the Hylotl, and would avoid it in it's entirety, since it deems it unworthy as a source of food, or a source of shininess. Florans: The Raptorling see the Floran with curiosity, as it's skin is made of plant fibers, yet it could be shaped like a predator, and act like a normal sentient being. Florans are able to train the Raptorling to become pets and hunters of food should they choose. Tamability: - The Raptorling can only be trained by Novakid, or Florans. They are able to understand gestures such as "Fetch food" or "Attack" or simple commands, like following, staying, or doing small tricks. The easiest time to train the Raptorling would be a few weeks after hatching, when they are able to survive on their own, though be trained with a constant companion. Raptorlings are in general hard to take care of, though not impossible. They need to Fly around an open space everyday, and must be able to hunt for food, or risk losing it's edge, and become lazy and weak to other Predators. They must be either fed, or hunt for themselves high protein food. Where is it found?: The Raptorling can be found on any Tropical Forest with a high number of animals or prey. They cannot be brought into Deserts, Or Snowfields, as they would not be able to survive for long in either. They can also be found dense forests, and their nests would be high at the literal top of the tree, where they can hop off for a quick flight for food. Rarity: - Raptorlings aren't rare enough to be classified as wonders, though they aren't numerous enough to be a threat to the local wildlife. Only a few Raptorlings can be found in a Forest at the time, as they are territorial, and will fight for mates and prey. Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: - Raptorlings are purely Carnivores, and take pleasure in the meat of other animals. They cannot eat anything Vegetative, or they will immediately throw it up onto the floor. Raptorlings find great delight in eating cooked boneless meals, as they find the taste to be better than normally hunting meat Products?: -The Female Raptorling's meat, when cooked thoroughly, is able to be a delicious meat that rivals that of seasoned meat, since the Bird's diet and lifestyle are tailored for bringing in food. The Feathers of the Raptorling also have a chance to contain a large White Spotted Feather, which is very rare, and is only seen in 1 out of 20 Raptorlings, considering that they're territorial as well, means that they can most likely be placed at a high price. Reproduction: - Raptorlings are only capable of Sexual Reproduction. The way that Raptorlings mate, are Intercourse, during Flight. The Male Raptorlings are capable of doing this during flight, and uses the movement of both to get rid of any other Male's Sperm. The Female Raptorlings, once they have been impregnated, cannot leave the Nest for up to 3 weeks, as the eggs are fragile, and must be slowly laid. If the Female is disturbed to the point that she must move from the nest, the egg is lost. The moment that the egg is laid, it will only take a few hours for the Egg to crack, and a newborn Raptorling to be born. The Males Keep a look out while the female lays eggs, to make sure that other predators are not nearby. Size: - Raptorlings are capable of being larger than Earth Eagles and hawks, though are usually larger than size of albatrosses Weight: - Small Raptorlings usually weigh about 4-5 ounces, though when they are Fully Grown males, they run the range of about 30 pounds, while the Female albatross is around 20-25 pounds Lifespan: - Due to their eating habits, Diets, and lifestyles, Raptorlings usually live about 30-35 years, while in captivity, they usually live around 45 years. Abilities: [*] Air Raid Siren-Like Mating Calls [*] Large Wingspans that allow for incredible speed [*] Razor-Sharp Teeth and a barbed tongue for hunting prey and gutting/Stripping them of their skin and chewing them for every last morsel [*] Sharp eyes for seeing far away pray (Can see a bunny from 3 miles up Flaws: - Bright Objects capture their every attention, so they are prone to trailing off and being vulnerable if something shiny is present. Bright Flashing lights however, startle them immensely, and they fly as fast as possible to get away from it. The Raptorling's sleep cycle makes it vulnerable when it's asleep, requiring no less than 11 hours. Any less will hamper their attention, and they'll be less effective at catching prey. They also require a high protein diet. Other: - They're large, angry birds that can be trained from near birth to be sweet companions, and be able to defend their compatriots
