    // A video is posted to the Nexus \\

    // The video starts off with the scene of a podium upon a stage. Standing at the podium is an Arachnid, a Black Widow in white silk dress and bronze jeweled crown, their face painted with white lines. Their pink eyes and form would suggest that the Black Widow is a female. Behind her stand five other Arachnids, each one different in appearance and subspecies. At the podium, one can see a microphone pointed at the Widow. She begins to speak in Arachnid, clicking and vibrating her chelicerae. A few moments after she pauses, a voice in Common calls out, likely a translator. This pattern continues throughout the speech. \\

    "Residents of Rachis, across all its many districts, and to the people of the Galaxy across, we greet you all. We are Queen Mirabilis, leader and representative of the Rachien civilization. Our Hylotl allies, who have helped us so greatly in our quest to better the lives of our citizens, progress our nation to bounds thought unachievable, and join the other star-faring civilizations, have worked in tandem with the brilliant minds of the Academia to produce Rachis's greatest creation yet. The first thread in the great web of unity we strive for. We present, The Guide.”

    // The curtains behind the Black Widow part from the middle, revealing a rather large, surprisingly modern looking starship port. The stage appears to be at the very base of it, with stairs and platforms rising above it. The camera pans up to bring into focus a titanic mothership, easily on the larger spectrum of a Frigate class. \\

    // "Clapping”, sounding moreso like shoes on a pavement resonates from behind the camera, along with varied pitches of clicking and chittering. The camera pans back to the stage, the five Arachnids behind the Queen are clapping with the pair of arms connected to their shoulders. The Queen bows her head once, clicking her chelicerae after the noise began to die down. Again, after some pauses the translations came through. \\

    "The Guide, this offering to the stars, is a grand testament to our people's' ingenuity, our determination, our desire to roam the stars just as our ancestors did. A meeting of Arachnid and Hylotl technology, it is both familiar to our people in appearance, and functional for the new environment that awaits us above. With the powerful engine that can travel faster light, repurposed by our Portian engineers, there is nowhere in this galaxy that we cannot reach. In a few weeks time, The Guide shall set sail with the bravest our districts have to offer, initiating its grand tour of the galaxy. A colonizer, an embassy, a market, and a missionary all wrapped into one construct. We hope that those who meet our vessel shall welcome it with open arms, that peace may be forged between our civilizations. A web falls when the threads are not in concordance with each other.”

    // More chitinous Arachnid clapping is heard behind the camera, another pause is taken before the Queen begins to speak again. \\

    "That is not all that we have to announce. With this opening door to other civilizations, we would like to return the favor. As of today, our starports shall be open to visiting spacecraft, where those from other worlds may come to ours and learn about our people. Once more, the Hylotl have assisted us in this endeavor, setting up a customs office to provide translators, maps, and even tour guides to those who need them. We look forward to seeing new faces walk among us. Web guide us.”

    // The crowd once again applauds and chitters. Queen Mirabilis bows her head, her eyes closed. \\

    // End of video \\

    This is quite the feat of engineering I'm glad to see more species join the space age in my lifetime.
