Name: Stasis Fields / Containment Fields / Higgs Magnetic Symmetry Field Description: The Higgs Magnetic Symmetry (HMS) stasis field appears as a pale, cyan blue apparition which appears transparent over the object that is being suspended; this cyan blue flickers into the air, and may sometimes appear as another color altogether depending on the mechanisms of the stasis field. It can, for the purpose of "coolness factor", be made to project different colors as well. Stasis Fields are commonly used to preserve valuable objects or safely contain highly volatile compounds such as unknown pathogens or even anti-matter. Abilities: Stores objects and other things in perfect preservation in a constant chemical, physical, and temporal state. Can even suspend energy in static animation. Can be projected to hold certain objects. Limitations: Decently complex to construct, dealing with higher-level Higgs field interactions. Requires constant energy input that exponentially scales with the size of the field. This also means it is often too energy-extensive to be used on armor as a means of defense, though smaller tiny handheld models exist that can hold valuable samples. How does it work: The HMS stasis field is the best stasis field created to-date; the stasis field utilizes a projector. Quantum devices project a high-energy field into a rod containing metametallic properties which forces a symmetry in the Higgs field of a region of space it is pointed it; this causes the object to take on a massless state as each atom in the object simultaneously turns into what is essentially a photon, being massless particles. Then, much like how holographic technology works, a projector manipulates a variable magnetic field and uses magnetic vortices to lock each particle. This causes an interesting relativistic effect to be observed; the object, being pseudo-photonic particles locked by magnetism, still obeys the laws of general relativity and travel at the speed of light, but locked; essentially, each photon vibrates an incredible amount in one point of space, which causes time relative to the photonic object to become completely stopped. This causes the object to remain completely still in space relative to the projector, as the object experiences no time changes from the relativistic effects taking place. Therefore, because of this, the object is completely in stasis and cannot undergo any chemical or even physical changes until it is placed out of stasis. The sizes of these fields vary, however it is a general rule that the energy input of the stasis fields is proportional to the volume of the field. Theoretically, if enough energy is provided, massive objects such as even vehicles or vast amounts of experimental matter can be held in stasis. One of the primary uses of the HMS stasis field is ability to contain anti-matter in a state of stasis; as anti-matter typically annihilates its opposite charge in a matter of nanoseconds, it cannot be safely stored on its own; rather, anti-matter and strange matter can find safe storage using Higgs manipulation to temporarily put the anti-matter or strange matter in stasis so that it does not decay. Because of this, stasis fields have found numerous weaponized applications such as in anti-matter weaponry or special types of lasers that use anti-matter as a gain medium. Not limited to objects, Quantum Stasis Fields also suspend anything else in the field; fast-moving projectiles, pressure waves, air vibrations, light, and more are suspended in static animation when in the field. It is even possible, and has been tested by the Miniknog as of 3283, that a nuclear explosive can be contained by a very strong quantum stasis field, and when stopped, continues the explosion. Flavor text: Stasis field technology has been preceded by concepts originally from science fiction dating back thousands of years; however, with the growing research of quantum physics the reality slowly became real as experimental versions of the stasis field has been tested in highly isolated environments. In 3223, the first Higgs Magnetic Symmetry field was created after numerous experiments by humanity's CERN laboratory, which was credited with the initial discovery of the Higgs field much earlier. The Higgs Magnetic Symmetry field was also discovered by the Apex a bit earlier. Referenced Technologies (Optional): N/A Attainability: Open Tags: [Civilian] Category: Other
