Fossilized Ophidaunt Name: Ophidaunt ( Crustacea Oceanus ) Description: Ophidaunts are gigantic oceanic reptiles that have a slender, dorsal-finned body with a large head and two large scythes for arms. Their eyes are incredibly large due to their habitat of deep oceans. Their scythes are very sharp and are often continually sharpened on rocks found near continental shelves. Their mouths are able to to open up and act like a vacuum to suck in prey or they can simply eat them with their large, bone teeth. They travel through undulating movement with their tail. Behavior: Ophidaunts are seldom seen by people, but when spotted Ophidaunts often see them as food, and will circle them before eating them and if it is big enough, the ship they are in. They are very predatory animals and will try to kill things many times their greater, even if it means their death. They live in groups of up to 3 with a primarily female population. Their large eyes are sensitive to light and as such a bright day can keep them from surfacing from the depths they call home Tamability: Ophidaunts are completly untamable Where is it found: Deep oceans, near continental shelves and juveniles can be found near reefs. Rarity: Quite rare, due to their large size they are hard to find, as well as the fact they are a dying species and have existed for millions of years Diet: Incredibly predatory, carnivorous. They will eat large animals the size of whales, sharks and can sometimes filter feed large amounts of fish through their massive mouthes. Products: Their bones are often used for trophies and in primitive civilizations, building homes.
