I have two constraints real quick. Firstly, is this device projecting a magnetic field in order to strengthen, or is it using hardlight as a cover? I'm fine with either, I just want a clarification, though the former sounds like what you're describing more so. Bearing in mind, novakid shells are just gas held into a solid barrier through magnetism. The second is that this shouldn't be Semi-Closed, and should be open. It's not hard to recreate with existing technologies. Keep in mind the semi-closed bracket is more so used for faction technologies (Such as the atlas particle cannon) and rare event objects (like Qarin arrows). Pending.
