In the knee, there would be two holes where one 12 gauge shotgun shells can be loaded at a time in each hole. These would be able to be fired off at will as a last resort, or a quick means to an end, or perhaps to turn a disabling knee kick into a deadly close range scattershot blast. The rounds can be loaded in through the respective slots in the back of the knee, where they would be ejected. Each hole has the capacity of one shell, making for a total of two shells stored at a time. These shells include variations such as: Buckshot, Slugs, and Flechette. The shin would have 2 rows of 7 holes going down it, starting at three inches from the base of the knee. These holes would have pneumatic captive bolts in them. Captive bolts are a tool originally used to humanely euthanize cattle by using a pistol like tool to send a bolt to strike, but not penetrate, the skull. The bolts strike at a speed of 55 m/s with the pins being made of tungsten. This would have the ability to either break bone, shall a kick be delivered, render an unarmored opponent unconscious, or provide a lethal blow, if struck in the right place, such as the head. The captive bolts are reusable and can be deployed every 10 seconds. The 10 seconds would be needed for the pneumatic pressure to build up again. History of Aug/Tech: Due to the total loss of his right leg, Vance ocana felt the need to create his own working prosthetic limb, that would suite his needs. The needs being the abilities to walk and defend himself, due to his dangerous lifestyle. How does it work?: It uses sensors connected to nerve endings at the point of amputation and would receive signals, from the brain , to activate servos and other abilities. Intended use: Meant to be an alternative to conventional prosthetics, suitable for people with dangerous lifestyles, and for people that do not wish to carry a weapon as self defense. Strengths: - 1.25x stronger than the average leg, due to mechanical assistance, - Concealable under clothing - Shotguns can be used as a surprise in an emergency - Captive bolts are a less lethal alternative to disabling an opponent - Repairable - Versatile, if loaded with the right ammunition - When EMPed it locks in place, as not to make the user fall over. It will however be free of said effect within a minute of being EMPed. - If maintained regularly, such as using valve oils and switching out the pneumatic fluids in the captive bolts, replacing faulty parts, and fien tuning the servos; then the leg shall work as functioned without any problems. Weaknesses: - Can be EMPed - Considerably more heavy than a regular leg. - If EMPed the user is rooted to where they stand until the EMP's effect is over. - If shot in a servo, it may not function properly - If shot in the shin while pressure is built up for the captive bolts, pneumatic fluid will spray everywhere, and will compromise the structural integrity of the leg. - If shot in the knee with the shells loaded, there is a chance the leg may blow up and backfire, causing it to not function. - If not maintained regularly, the leg could potentially cease to function properly, such as movement being inhibited/slowed, parts not working properly, jammed shotgun shells, captive bolts firing off at less efficiency, and other obvious faults from maltreatment.
