Name: - Melichvander (Lactis erro) Description: A tall, pallor creature; the Melichvander are beasts of Erebus. They have long, oddly-jointed arms and legs, sharp claws at the tip of each finger, each connected to a bulbous central body, a large fin sprouting from a ridge down the middle of their head. A cavernous mouth and two orb-like eyes are on the front face of this polygon body, with two sets of massive retractable fangs occupying the gums of this creature. Behavior: Melichvander are ferocious, angry creatures. Highly territorial, they roam the forests of Erebus, their wood-like skin blending into the trees around them, prey only seeing their pallor body when it is all too late. When they have captured their targets, they rip into these beasts with their claws and powerful teeth, rending flesh from the body until they reach their desired target. The bones. Although they devour the majority of the flesh, each and every bone within the body will be reduced to splinters, devoured for the nutrients they hold, leaving a pile of discarded viscera and organs. A bloody, vile scene, the Melichvander are without mercy or care for any living thing. Tamability: Untamable. Where is it found?: Erebus, the first layer of the cave systems within the Undercrypt. The domain of the Melichvander within Erebus are its forests, however. Damp, cold, dark, and filled with tall, thick trees that appear as though they are dead, the forests fit this creature of the shadows well. Rarity: Uncommon, although rare, they still are a nightmare of Erebus's wooded areas. Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: Carnivorous, the Melichvander hunt down their prey, using camouflage and fear to track down those they desire, which is generally anything they can kill, even if it is larger than themselves. Skeletons, however, are a particularly favorite target of these beasts, as they are practically walking cakes in the eyes of the Melichvander. Products?: Disgusting meat, and a calcium-rich fluid that fills an organ within their central mass, filled with the calcium of broken down bones that hasn't been absorbed yet. Reproduction: Asexual, a Melichvander can regurgitate another one of its kind once every three years. Size: Around 15ft tall, arms 12 feet long, legs 10. Weight: 300 lbs on average Lifespan: Generally considered to be around 115 years Abilities: Retractable fangs Strength, can easily punch through the smaller trees of Erebus's wooded areas, which are renowned for their hardwood strength Fast, can run at around 35mph Nimble Blends into Erebus's trees, able to stalk its prey A gland within their body releases Phobos gas, causing their victims to become distressed and fearful as they are being stalked, making them easier targets Flaws: Limbs can be broken more easily due to their length Skin isn't very durable, easily bleed out Unsocial, you'll only encounter single Melichvander, and they often get in territory fights.
