Name: Lightning Javelins Lightning javelins (or bolts) appear as long spears of energy arcing with electric current, held and formed by the hand; they glow brightly and can generally appear as any color, depending on the type of plasma used (Aesthetic!). Coarsing with electric and plasma energy, they form in the hand starting as a brief glow, but growing into a raging bolt of energy that can be thrown and propelled forth; when they strike a solid object, they will explode in a bright, short radius burst of electricity and heat. Abilities: Can deal heavy electrical damage if hit, with a small 2-meter area of effect. Explodes in arcs of electricity that can shock things and even spot-weld metal together. Can generate into a hand with a special gauntlet designed to generate and contain the bolt. Battery life is variable; can be hooked up to Glitch power systems or batteries or other things. Conditional Abilities: Deals good damage against things weak to electricity, such as electronic components and androids. Can fry electronics such as those in power armor. Limitations: Takes a good amount of energy to generate Takes around 3 seconds to fully form Really obvious Bolt is slower than usual plasma projectiles, making it at least dodgeable Like any other high-tech device, will be disabled by an EMP until repaired How does it work: The gauntlet worn to generate a lightning bolt is similar to one that generates plasma, only that it draws a considerable amount of energy from a source to instead generate the proton "plasma" shell with a heavily increased amount of drawn electrons, aiding to the chaotic nature of the bolt's appearance and its instability when striking an object. The resulting blast explodes in a small bit of plasma which results in the heat, but not as much as the amount of electricity bursting out of the bolt. Flavor text: A popular "spell" utilized by powerful Glitch archmages, it was created only around 400 years ago by archmages studying the mythology and works of Pantheon Glitch, building upon the stories of storm gods flinging powerful bolts of lighting at their targets. The resulting "spell" gauntlet was not as powerful, and needed a lot of energy, but it did its job well in intimidation factor as it was actually considered a powerful tool used by Glitch mages.
