    Name: Khalas, Crab Blood

Description: Khalas is a viscous cyan fluid that is harvested from the bodies of fallen Qadim, a type of interloper megafauna native to Tarridus. It has a clean, medicinal smell and a sweet taste. It emits a dim glow, and seems to reflect a different environment than the one it is in.
. . When consumed, the user’s veins will glow bright blue. Repeat users are known to have their gums, tongue, and eyes turn blue as well.

    Abilities:
    - Panacea: When injected, Khalas has incredible medicinal effects. It has been observed to purge bacterial and viral infections from the body, as well as drastically boost the immune system of the patient for around a week.
    - Ambrosia: When ingested, Khalas has different primary effects. A single dose can sustain someone for an entire day, as well as ward off dehydration. It’s also been observed to energize the user similarly to caffeine.
    - As the Qadim do: After being consumed, Khalas prolongs the patient’s lifespan. First, by twenty years, then ten, and so on. This continues with diminishing effect until it only provides another twenty four hours.
    - - Khalas grants Anomaly Detection, and makes latent psions more likely to awaken to their powers. This Anomaly Detection manifests as vivid hallucinations, getting stronger as the anomaly does.
    - - It also makes the user less susceptible to the negative effects of Cuils, up to 3‽.

    Conditional Abilities:
    - Of a Kind:
Tarridans experience the effects for injecting and ingesting it at the same time, thanks to their peculiar anatomy. A single dose can sustain a Tarridan for a week.
    - Imperfect Cure: Khalas can purge the Drakablod FEV if it is injected before mutations set in, and can prevent Shifterism.
    - Looking Glass: When peered through, Khalas shows hyperspace as if the onlooker had Veilsight.
    - Dune Attuned: Khalas users sometimes experience effects similar to Natural Intuition when in desert environments, most prominently Tarridus itself.

    Limitations:
    - Impermanent:
The imparted Anomaly Detection only lasts for around fifteen minutes after ingestion.
    - Munity: After the boost fades, the patient’s immune system is weakened for an equivalent amount of time. This effect can be staved off with more Crab Blood, but doing so will also increase the time needed for the immune system to recover.
    - Immutable: Khalas can not be mixed with other substances to increase or alter its effects.
    - Spent Lifeblood: Khalas is chemically addictive for non-Tarridans. Along with the typical symptoms of withdrawal, users are known to experience intrusive day-dreams of places they have never seen and a strong desire to travel to Tarridus.

    Conditional Limitations:
    - Miraculous: Due to its complex biological and anomalous origin, it is impossible for Khalas to be artificially synthesized or cloned.

How does it work: Contained within Khalas are specialized, cuil-touched amebocytes which purge the body of infection and work to fend off diseases. They also repair the DNA of the user, allowing them an extended lifespan.
. . The more anomalous effects of Khalas are due to these amebocytes sustaining portions of their original Qadim’s flux, and putting it to use in the patient’s body and brain. This process is capable of ‘jumpstarting’ a psionic mind, or causing intrusive false memories in non-psionic brains.
. . Once the amebocytes die out in the body, much of the user’s immune system is put to work removing the foreign bodies, temporarily comprising it.

Flavor text: The ichor-gift of Tarridus, Khalas is a high-value item for both its material and spiritual properties to the residents of Tarridus. It can only be found in the bodies and cast-off limbs of the Qadim. It has found its way into many native rituals, as well as being used in medicine and to stave off dehydration.
. . Thanks to its use, many of their noble leaders live well over their natural lifespan.

    Referenced Technologies: None

Attainability: Semi-Closed, attainable through RP action involving Tarridans. Typically bought for around ~20,000 pixels per dose.

Other: This is a reapplication of Khalas. Although it had been previously passed, I think the above application better realizes the fantasy intended for the drug. Both former graders have been notified of this.
