They've just got to train them up. Limitations: - Because the brand is made out of a much softer material than average, this leads to the brand being much more fragile than normal brands. - Due to the weaker brand, this also leads to a weaker force holding the novakid together. This leads to their membranes being much more fragile and overly sensitive. Thus light hits or scratches that most novakid should be able to survive just fine will cause more pain or even have the membrane torn. - Another effect of the weaker membrane is that the novakid becomes much weaker, and can only carry about two thirds of what they'd normally be able to carry. Conditional limitations: - The host must be very careful, since the risk of causing serious damage to their membrane or brand is always just around the corner. How does it work: By utilizing a metal, with similar properties to normal brand metal, only much softer, the brand becomes much more sensitive to outside forces, such as light hitting it or soundwaves, et cetera. This, combined with the fact that the brand is usually pushed out a little more from the head can also provide the novakid with increased field of view, along with much more detail at further ranges. They can also choose to "focus†their brands on a single point, which will cause them tunnel vision as they effectively ignore the input from other regions of the brand, and gain a better view of whatever they are focusing on. A novakid using this technique claimed to be able to spot a beetle on a single tree stem 350 yards away. However, due to the much softer metal the brand becomes much weaker and fragile, of course novakids loose in their physical department (weaker membrane and physical strength) but their brand also becomes much more fragile, and can very easily crack. Novakids with this will also be a lot more sensitive, and can suffer pain or damage from things which, to a normal novakid, wouldn't even hurt. Flavor text: There isn't much history to this, as it is merely a form of novakid brand which certain novakids are born with. However, whilst it is possible for a novakid to have one inserted into themselves, they will have to create an artificial brand out of the same material to be the exact same shape as their brand, and then replace their brand piece by piece until it has been completely replaced.
