Combustible from friction. History of Aug/Tech: Pulsar's disappearance raised a few questions for some people. Upon investigating his ship, Blake found plans of an unusual armor system that originally seemed suicidal to even use. However, further research showed that it's function is similar to a fireman suit with a surface layering of incendiary grenades that are (nearly) unable to harm the wearer. How does it work?: The weaving is essentially a toned down miniature incendiary grenade crammed into thread. Upon impact, the weave practically explodes into flame at the point of impact, similar to a match. Similar to a match as well, it is very hard to ignite the thread with bullets. The weave itself does not ignite under heat unless a 2-4 second period of being exposed to high intensity heat passes. Intended use: Close quarters "return to sender" policy. Spew flame when hit by those close to you. Strengths: - Instant retribution to close quarters enemies - Light protection - Flexible. Can be used in clothing with little/no physical change other than combustibility. - Lightweight. Barely distinguishable from wearing a shirt. - Some variants allow the benefit of improved protection, flame temperature, and AoE as literal armor (DragonWeave). Other variants offer improved "precision" flame angles with narrower streams and higher intensity (HellFire). Weaknesses: - Friendly /fire/. - Is literally between your normal clothes and Kevlar vests in terms of protection unless on a specified variant. - Self harm if not used properly. - It's fire. Fire is slow. It can be avoided. It can also be ran into. - The flame spurts in a random direction in a 150 degree radius around the point of impact unless on a specified variant. - The weave actually reacts badly with any metal but Ferozium and Impervium, and may combust spontaneously, if not corrode the metal first. How do you believe this will assist in benefiting roleplay?: I think this will give people a chance to use lighter armor rather than run around in bulky power armor, as they might want to try sacrificing protection for mobility instead of the other way around to use the flame aspect.
