// A new Haven Times article reaches the masses, describing the acceptance of the demands of the Shifters by the Haven Federation, and a deal with SOLUS Industries and the Haven Federation. \ The Haven Times Just recently, a fleet of Shifter "bioships" touched down on Haven, leaving people wondering how they got in so easily. After the Shifters began to swarm the ruined Corrav District, the Haven Government made the decision to destroy a large portion of the fleet along with the Corrav District, launching a kinetic rod to destroy the city, and possibly save the Federation from further turmoil. From there, Shifter bioships began to hover above the other districts, prompting Shifter leaders to demand from the Senate usage of Yggdrisil, Haven's Life Tree, in order to sustain their kind. Reluctantly, the Senate accepts, bringing us to where we are today. There is one portion of the story, however, which is not known to public ears yet. Strangely, after the incident, a Senator by the name of Saif Cassio resigned from the Senate. Just recently however, I learned of something disturbing by tip of an anonymous government official. In an attempt to bring a neutral Shifter leader to relocate the infected of the Corrav District, Senator Cassio actually set up a trap, allowing the Shifter fleet into Haven with purpose to invade. After this, he was promptly impeach, being marked as a traitor. That is right, Senator Saif Cassio was working for the very Shifters that murdered a tenth of our entire population. After betraying the Federation, Saif Cassio moved on to join the ICIF as an Emir, a government official. High Commander Kate Bradshaw resigned as well, believed to be in favor of the ICIF and the Shifters, as is Senator al-Saqqaf believed to be. It makes one wonder what compels people to assist composers of genocide. Is it greed, or simply pure evil? In either scenario, there were traitors in the midst of our own Senate, working in the plans to murder the people of Haven. - In more positive news, the recently established SOLUS Industries and its Corona Mining Outpost, the first industrial venture in the Corrav District in a long time (or what was the Corrav District), struck a deal with the Haven Senate to sell their mine's solarium output to the government to trade with the UACC for ships to add onto Haven's Navy. A stronger navy is certainly always something to strive for, and perhaps someday, business will boom again under the watch of Solus. - In final news, in these dreadful times, election season has begun. Take a look here if you are a citizen and are interested in running for office. Perhaps one of the new Senators can really make a positive change? - Ordicus Strigis, Haven Times Head Writer
//Comment from Lange// "The fall has begun. Thank god I moved out before it happened. My condolences to those that perished in the Corrav district."
