Name: Commonly called giant dart frog because it basically is - scientific name Dendrobates Gigus Description: Literally a huge frog that is really poisonous to touch, comes in a ton of colors it ranges from 4 feet to 6 feet in height on average at adulthood although numbers outside that range are not unheard of the largest ever being a monstrous 9 feet tall Behavior: Typically the creature is fairly passive, it is carnivorous but does not tend to attack large creatures going instead for rabits etc. it sleeps in trees (Its native planet is populated largely by redwood sized trees) when they are large enough or in whatever shelter in can find if not. it is fairly intelligent compared to its smaller relative and is capable of understanding verbal commands and growing affectionate to a person, although it has no pack instinct so its relationship is merely that of a friend and not of a servant. It hunts for its food by jumping grabbing it with its huge tongue, its tongue also has the poison on it and even if the creature gets away it will usually die after if it came in contact. Usually the prey is eaten whole. They tend to be friendly toward each other and group up in similar areas but this is more due to the resources, they will help each other if need be and therefore attacking one may result in several attacking you at once (They usually try to crush people by jumping on them and using their weight) Tamability: Typically the creature will be tamable especially if it is younger, to do so is simple, just give it food over and extended period and the creature will come to enjoy your company, it also helps if you wear a rubber glove or something similar and pet it, if you do so it tends to help the process as typically it makes the creature think you are one of its kind since you can safely touch it, They are not strong enough to ride but due to the potency of their poison it is worth a good bit of cash and therefore they are fairly commonly farmed, the poison is easily collected with a scraper and the frogs don't seem to mind it being taken. Its eggs also fetch a good price because they (If prepared properly) make quite the good delicacy (If done improperly they will give you a bad case of food poisoning). Once tamed they consider you one of their own and will react as such if you are attacked (Not just the one you tamed but all the ones in the area). Commands when tamed are not so much commands as requests Where is it found?: Originally it came from a rainforest planet however today it can be found relatively commonly being farmed on all manner of farms ranging from smaller ranches to larger plantations Rarity: Used to be rare but now they're an exotic farm animal, like alpacas or ostriches Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: Its a carnivore and will eat anything about the size of a rabbit it really likes fish Products?: The eggs and the poison are the big two, its meat is also kind of good but not worth the loss of the eggs (Side note if messed around with chemically the poison actually turns into an incredibly potent antivenom) Reproduction: - Sexually, eggs are fertilised once layed, almost no real interaction between the two, one lays the eggs and plants a pheremone marker, and hops off to get food the other comes and fertilises them and leaves a second marker to say it did Size: Big like horse :3 Weight: Its pretty heavy think about like a horse but if it was fat and had a low center of gravity Lifespan: - Average lifespan is 40 longest is 80 Abilities: - Poison skin Poison tongue Can jump quite far however the highest instance ever known was one bred to leap reaching the top of a two story house Can swim decently but not very well Flaws: - Very pick on the size of their food due to lack of teeth Slow walking Soft skin makes them incredibly susceptible to ranges weapons Other: - They dont work well in war because A. They arent naturally agressive B. They are soft and squishy C. They're really conspicous (I cannot stress enough that these are like pigs, kinda dangerous in the wild but good in a farm and stupid as a war animal)
