Originally posted by Duskmantle Name: Fast Action Tactical Paramilitary Combat Kit (F.A.T.P.A.C.K.) Description: A backpack with two fuel cells in the middle, covered by light plating (2 mm) to prevent exposure from elements and otherwise, flanked by two short jet thrusters that are pointed at a 65* angle, angled away from the user's body to prevent burns. The jet thrusters are shielded from the top half, with the fuel lines being contained within the backpack to protect them from the elements. Abilities: A medium-length and height jetpack launch. Conditional Abilities (Optional): None Limitations: Both the type and capacity of the fuel will limit how far the user can go. Using more powerful fuels, the user may go further and higher, however, the offset is they may jump less times. Cheaper and lower grade fuels will go more often, but not carry you as far. Low grade fuels also have a chance to combust improperly, causing erratic or malfunctioning flight, resulting in possible injury. Conditional Limitations (Optional): This requires both training and the physique to use it. How does it work: Much like a parachute, the user rips a cord, akin to starting a lawnmower. This process fills the fuel lines to the jet thrusters and takes three seconds to fully prime the fuel lines. Once fueled, it emits a soft 'breep breep breep' to signal a green. The user then punches a button on the opposite arm of the vest to initiate the rocket jump, launching the user forward. ( 5 - 10ft for lower grade fuels, 11 - 25ft for medium grade, and 26 - 35ft for high grade). The maximum height achieved varies as well. ( 5ft for low grade, 10ft for medium and 15ft for high ). This motion is presented in an arc only, and the unit is not designed to hover. In order to create a hover pack, the original model must be modified. (Someone else's tech app problem, not mine~) Flavor text: Primarily a device used by SWAT teams, the FATPACK, despite it's snicker-worthy name, is an invention that works wonders for urban combat, especially in CQC. It provides options for getting to better vantage points or even busting through an upper story window if close enough, allowing multiple approaches to hostage situations.
