Hylotian Graphic Novel "Sparkling Comet - Queen of Prominence" Exits Its Fifth Extended Hiatus
3288 is already off to a great start as Hylotl grahpic novelist Ai Yamada announces the return of their hit series "Sparkling Comet - Queen of Prominence", ending its five year hiatus. Yamada announced she would be taking a break from all of her series in November of 3283 after releasing issue 116, citing back pain as the main reason for its abrupt stop in the middle of the revelation filled "Lost Nebula" arc. However, many fans were quick to point out that the hiatus' announcement lined up perfectly with the release of the highly anticipated Wyvern Story 32: The Last King, and that the four previous hiatuses also lined up with major releases from the very same HRPG series.

Issue 117, titled "Occultation", will release digitally by the end of this March and should appear in a paperback form in bookstores across the galaxy in mid April. According to Yamada, it will be the first issue in the entire series to be done entirely in color as a thank you to all the fans that have stuck with her all this time. A limited edition 10" vinyl figure of the main protagonist posing with her signature battle axe will also be sold on the publisher's online store until June 15th!

    The Story So Far

As it's been five whole years since the last issue, you'd be forgiven for forgetting what was happening with the story. After the completion of the "Sunspot" arc, which began main heroine Minamoto no Ibuki's gradual descent into anti-hero territory as she gradually loses sight of her original goal to discover the truth behind the strange stars that began appearing in the sky at the start of the series. Jaded by the betrayal of some of her most trusted crewmates, she decides to take a pilgrimage to the Lost Nebula, which is supposed to help one find themselves according to the folklore of her home planet Kūkai, a sort of feudal Axolotia inspired society with infusions of modern tech powered by magic. Within the nebula, Minamoto somehow becomes separated from her crew and finds herself in a strange pocket dimension designed to test her will and to subtly warn her of the trials to come. Issue 116 ends with Minamoto discovering something shocking about the origin of the mysterious new stars, but the reader is kept unaware of what she learned. Fans were made to wait five whole years to learn what's going on, but the wait fill finally be over by the end of the month. Here's hoping it's been worth the wait.
