Said carapace has a set default color, varying between. These robots have the ability to change the color of this carapace to any hue or shade in the visible spectrum, typically choosing to mirror that of another nearby individual. [/b]History of Aug/Tech[/b][/b]:[/b][/b] [/b][/b]After [Redacted]'s unpleasantly embarrassing defeat at the hands Sylvia Darmine Praxis and several of her friends, [Redacted] was effectively banished from the fringe. With that said, [Redacted] hasn't any clue what's going on in the Fringe, and more importantly, the people who've left [Redacted] unable to show his masked face in the Fringe again. Thus, using some old blueprints for a project he was working on before his untimely but temporary death, he decided to invent a model of robot he named the Acrodonta. The first two - and currently, only two - are models S5140G and P2160B.[/b] [/b]How does it work?: These Androids have a multitude of miniature liquid crystal display (LCD) devices beneath their carapace, which are wired in a way similar to the human nervous system - upon touching or seeing a person's colors, their 'brain' automatically sends signals to these devices, reconfiguring the crystals in their fake skin, eyes, and hair and allowing them their ability to change coloration near instantaneously, starting at the head and going downwards. [/b] [/b]Intended use: The mostly dodgy color-changing ability is intended to serve as a distraction to the robot's (potentially malicious) true purpose–to gather information on the Fringe and report it back to [Redacted] . After all, common sense would dictate that spy-bots should have combat capabilities or perfect cloaking abilities– not a fragile shell and exotic (yet purely cosmetic in nature) chameleon-like attributes. With these abilities, people are more likely to think them as some sort of fancy toy rather than anything that could pose a threat to their security.[/b] [/b]Strengths: [/b] [/b]+Fancy color-changing ability. [/b] [/b]+Capable of internally connecting to the Nexus, making super-fast calculations, and other abilities typically possessed by robots or drones. [/b] [/b]+Marginally more durable than squishy organics due to their inorganic materials. [/b] +Wirelessly and near-instantaneously report their findings using Tachyon particles, making reports hard to intercept. [/b]Weaknesses:[/b] [/b]-Possesses no more strength than your average human. [/b] [/b]-Color-changing ability is not an active camouflage - it cannot copy patterns, only colors. While it might assist a small amount in blending in with surroundings, it otherwise is a purely cosmetic ability. [/b] [/b]-Tachyon transmission has relatively low bandwith. [/b] [/b]-These robots are not meant for combat. A particularly hard blow can crack, scratch or shatter their carapace. [/b] [/b]-Easy to kill or otherwise destroy. [/b] [/b]-Very expensive and time consuming to rebuild, taking about around an in-character month to recreate. [/b] [/b]-Motor skills disabled and vocal skills heavily impeded by EMPs.
