    General Information

Wesley Carpenter is a simple young man, and one of the newest to inhabit the Fringe. Although lacking a past or history to call his own, he craves neither fame nor fortune, but rather, a quiet life and the happiness of those around him.

A fairly young clone of a still-living man and a sworn pacifist, Wesley was originally created with singular purpose, but lives very much by his own accord. He hasn’t lived long enough to celebrate his birthday, but plans to do so on November 21st.

    Physical Appearance
Being a rather fresh clone of Caleb Carpenter, Wesley appears almost identical to him in physical build. Six feet and seven inches tall with an overall muscley, “fit” build, being far from skinny but not quite as broad as you’d expect; with clothes on, he gives off a mostly sleek impression, even more so than his derivative.

Unlike him, however, Wesley’s complexion is borderline immaculate aside from the occasional freckle or blackhead. The various scars Caleb’s built up across his body from a wide range of injuries over the years are totally absent, and Caleb’s very-slightly-pale skin is replaced with a sun-kissed complexion befitting of someone who spends most of their time outdoors, when they can. His hair is also far neater than Caleb’s, being well-kept and combed to the sides (and slightly back), and although he’s still a natural blonde, he keeps his hair dyed an interesting but subtle shade of pale blue.

Even more so than Caleb, Wesley’s outfits consist of very down-to-Earth choices, though they tend to prioritize formality over comfort rather than striking a balance. Button-up shirts almost exclusively fill out his upper bodywear selection unless in an extremely casual environment, while khakis and slacks are almost all he wears for pants. Alas, this means he has less variety to his wardrobe, but it doesn’t seem to bother him.

    Personality Type
    Type: ENFP-A
In contrast to the other two Carpenter men - Caleb trying to be good while being prone to enormous mood swings whereas Cipher’s kindness is mostly expressed purely through actions - Wesley is through and through a sweet man, albeit sometimes one with a little too much energy. Spending far more time happy than he does sad, bordering on peppy, Wesley is usually the optimist out of any given situation, likely due to lacking the psychological baggage of the man he was cloned from.

Of course, to say Wesley lacks depth would be a rather insensitive understatement. By design, Wesley is well-aware that he’s a clone, having been custom-designed by Caleb to be a more approachable, stable and “ideal” version of himself. Although a completely separate identity, he carries over almost all of Caleb’s memories, but perceives them in a sort of “second-person” fashion, aware that they’re all experienced done by his derivative despite being in his head. While genuinely content with life, his wide smile often hides a minor bit of internal strife over his position in life and the awful things his creator has done, hoping that people see him for an individual and not just a clone, despite even as much as his face not being truly his own.

Given Wesley’s age, it’s perfectly possible - and in fact, very plausible - that he’ll change over time, greatly. The Fringe has its ways, and pacifistic pretty boys like him tend to not last very long...or worse.

    Political Ideology
Again, likely due to his young chronological age, Wesley harbors no strong emotions about any kind of politics whatsoever. He’s undecided about his religious and ethics views at the time of writing, though for what it’s worth, this is viewed as an improvement by his creator, whose strong beliefs often put him at odds with others. Whereas Caleb is liable to badmouth self-augmentation or body transfers, for example, Wesley is likely to offer a kind shrug at worst or a few supportive words relating to a person’s own thoughts on the ideas, at best.

This, of course, comes off as if Wesley is attempting to be inoffensive as possible rather than simply kind...which is also correct. He somewhat resents himself for this, viewing it as a minor lack of backbone, but will probably grow out of it. Probably.

    Backstory
As stated, Wesley lacks a history of any kind. Despite being a 30 year-old man in mind and body, he’s merely months old.

Wesley was created out of a split-second decision by a scared and regretful Caleb Carpenter, intended to be his “replacement” while taking time away from home. Although telling those around him that his leave from Sanctus would be a temporary matter, he made plans to flee across the galaxy from his current home planet and never return out of shame for a particularly nasty deed. Over the course of a week, Wesley's body was created from personally-owned cloning technology, while his mind was quickly conceived from a backup of Caleb’s own microprocessor; once he was done, Wesley was given clothes, a phone, Caleb’s housekey and engagement ring, then dropped off on Sanctus while Caleb warped out of the system to parts unknown…

For the first three months, all was fine. Despite some rather justified speculation surrounding him given who made him, Wesley was rather successful at convincing the few people he met that, yes, he would in no way hurt them the way Caleb had (and so far, he's kept good on that). Caring for Caleb’s fiance and son as if they were his own, life was quiet - but unlike Caleb, Wesley retained a rather fond curiosity of his surroundings. Far more active, he spent most of his time hiking, exploring the Sanctian beaches and woods, in awe of his surroundings, using his new legs to walk as much as he could, his new eyes to take in as much of the alien landscape as possible. To breathe, to feel, to...live.

Complications only truly arose when the unexpected happened; Caleb returning from his extended “vacation” far earlier than he’d told anyone he would. Claiming that he was turning his life around - seeking therapy and psychiatric help rather than sulking at home most of his days - Wesley’s position as man of the Carpenter house was quickly reclaimed by the original owner. Although still completely welcome to live there, and widely accepted by everyone he knew, Wesley was left - or rather, gently nudged - to finally go out and live on his own, to develop his own identity, his own life...which is where he is now.
