so part of my character oko's backstory is that she was forced off of her usual shipping route due to pirate activity - i haven't decided yet where that shipping route is, because i don't want to contradict established server lore too much (for the same reason, i'm keeping it vague what factions were actually involved for the time being). are the star systems labelled on the galactic map the only named systems or can i just pick out a random string of unlabelled stars and call them her old shipping route? i don't want to accidentally pick out a system that's actually owned by an existing faction and end up contradicting their current lore for that system and end up having to retcon it.
I think it's fine if you pick a random string of unlabelled stars and call it a day, so long it's not on the absolute outskirts of the galaxy, and is relatively close to the more inhabitated zones of the Milky Way- here's a handy map for that, straight from GC canon. http://upload.vstanced.com/images/2019/06/21/ffe6a3a56427ba8557242f53feac68fe.png That's my thoughts on that, but I'd wait for a staff member to properly back my claim up.
