Name: Spine-Mounted Anti-Vehicle Railgun (S.M.A.V.R) (AKA: The Smaver, Anti-Hater Gun, Gamer-Gun, The Last Thing You See Other Than Giovanni's Face, Qarin 2, Purgatory Wet-Dream, Dave-Defense 6969, Homie-Gun, Delete Key)

    Description:
The Smaver is a heavy-duty weapon that is mounted onto one's person using a combination of a harness and a robotic limb that sockets into an accompanying spinal augment. A part of this harness includes a shoulder mounted scouter that fits over the eyes. Either at the right or left hip is a small controller that enables the user to control both the scouter and the mounted railgun. The ammunition fed into the railgun consists of 5-inch rods. It weighs around sixty pounds.

    Abilities:
    • The railgun itself has an extremely long range, with enough firepower to bust through most forms of worn armor and then some. It can be described as fairly average in performance compared to most railgun sniper rifles, in both damage potential and range.
    • The large robotic arm supporting the railgun and the scouter give the user an almost hands-free experience in aiming and firing the railgun. The remote at their hip allows for easy use, though training and practice will allow them to use all of the weapon's functions using purely the spinal augment.
    • Two weighted pistons fire off when the railgun itself does, applying recoil in the opposite direction of the gun itself. This is meant to counteract the extreme recoil, along with the recoil compensation within the bulky robotic arm. Without these, the user wouldn't be able to fire the gun without being prone in the first place, however the user must still kneel before firing unless they want to both be wildly inaccurate and fall on their ass.
    Conditional Abilities (Optional):
    • You could probably ram into someone with it. Not practical, but it would hurt pretty badly.
    • Could be used to blast open a wall given its nature... and whatever is on the other side.
    • God can answer to the user now.
    Limitations:
    • While the raingun and its harness are worn, the user will experience discomfort, as it is hard on the back and shoulders. People who are small or otherwise not fit will have difficulty getting around with the device, let alone dream of firing it. It is HEAVY.
    • The arm supporting the railgun does not move quickly nor does it have a wide range of motion. It can only fire at anything in front of the user, and coupled with the need for the user to brace themselves when firing, it is incredibly impractical and ineffective against anything up close that isn't a slow, giant turtle.
    • The railgun is a single-shot weapon, requiring the user to load in another cartridge manually after firing.
    • The railgun itself is rather long and large, being around five and a half feet long. When retracted it is still clearly visible from behind the user, and when deployed it usually maintains a solid foot between its barrel and the users head.
    • If the user doesn't have hearing protection, they'll blow out their eardrums and go deaf when firing this thing.
    Conditional Limitations (Optional):
    • An EMP would completely disable the entire device, ceasing all motor functions entirely. Given the railgun is positioned over the user's head, this usually means the heavy weapon will end up dropping its weight on their head.
    • Cannot be coupled with any augments that require an implant in a spine.
    • Because of the harness and arm, any clothing and armor will have to be open at the back, if worn at all. This means attacks from behind can break the arm easily and wound the user without having to first get through the armor.
    • Damage to the arm or pistons may result in the gun not properly compensating for the recoil. At best the user will fall to the ground and the shot will be wildly inaccurate. At worst, it straight up snaps their spine.
    How does it work:
The spine integration allows the robotic arm and scouter to interface with the user's nervous system. This allows both to track the user's eyes and motions, adjusting aim accordingly while extended and active. When preparing to fire, the user ideally kneels. The arm supporting the weapon and the barrel-mounted pistons help to negate the recoil from the powerful weapon. This entire setup effectively allows the user to deploy and use a railgun at medium to long ranges without having to go prone.

    Flavor text:
Giovanni had made a commission from Horizon in exchange for a Precursor artifact, requesting anything that adequately fit these conditions: "smth I can use to KILL the HATERS", "vagely:clap:unethcal" and "who fuckig cars just mak it badas". Because of this request, Gary forwarded this commission to his employee Elizabeth Smith, the go-to person for crazy, deadly inventions. This device is the fruit of her labors, as deadbeat-style the device is, tested and tweaked by Gary. God save us.

    Referenced Technologies (Optional): N/A

Attainability: Semi-Closed. Horizon's minds are responsible for such an impractical yet practical weapon.

The projectiles are rods that are about five inches in length.
Also added a couple of details like weight.
