Name: Claytronic Mesh Description: Claytronic mesh is a mesh made out of programmable matter bound together by complex nanomachines. Claytronic mesh uses nanomachines to be able to change a wide variety of physical properties of parts of itself. Parts of it can change colors, glow, change texture and shape, grow softer, harder, and even appear hairy. Abilities: · Can change color, texture, shape, and hardness. · Can animate color. · Useful for disguise suits or decoration. Limitations: · Not strong or durable; though it can harden, it cannot become harder than plastic. · An EMP will destroy the nanomachines; color, shape, texture, etc., will be maintained, but it will no longer be able to be changed. Glowing parts will no longer glow. · Expensive due to its extensive use of nanotechnology. A square foot of claytronic mesh will cost 5,000 Px. How does it work: Claytronic mesh is a macroscale polymer made of thousands of individual nanobots, as well as smaller nanobots coating the larger units. The nanobots may then coordinate in order to change appearances, by interfacing with an external computer. Flavor text: Claytronic technology is nanotechnology used for the purpose of changing its own shape, color, and general appearance using a computer network of nanomachines, and has existed since the dawn of nanotechnology. Claytronics first saw use in the entertainment industry, where actors could wear claytronic mesh so they did not have to be constructed via CGI. After numerous disguise incidents, claytronic technology was banned to the general public. In the Hylotl world, claytronics was just another facet of Axolotia’s rampant entertainment industry; claytronic clothes that changed appearance and color, expensive claytronic wallpaper, and more were explored by many Hylotl entertainment titans. The Apex Ministry of Knowledge extensively utilized claytronics for military purposes, keeping tight leashes on the technology and ensuring countermeasures against it. In the Fringe, however, claytronics as a medium for disguise evolved without the watchful eye of the law. Many spies trained in disguise extensively use claytronics, some even having their hands on rare suits made entirely from claytronic mesh, such as the APATE Changeling Suit formerly marketed by AkCorp. The hacker organization Veil sometimes employs agents equipped with claytronic suits to perform social engineering to gain access to valuable databases, though such agents are hard to come by due to the rarity of the technology as a disguise. Hey hey I'll be grading your app. Given that this technology provides a more generalized means of explaining existing objects and materials, I'd give this application its first pass. Simple and straightforward.
