The top is made of black glass, where radiation is sent out and received. History of Aug/Tech: It was designed and developed by the character Curla Meffin. How does it work?: Uses a harmless dose of radiation it scans a life form's bone structure, which it runs through a database to calculate the creatures race, gender, and age. It would also point out any abnormalities in said bone structure, such as broken bones, birth defects, and the location of implants. It will be unable to identify a race if it is not one of the eight core races (including penguins). If the race of the creature could not be determined by an initial scan it will prompt if this is a new race, allowing you to enter a name and save the scanned bone structure into the database. Intended use: Both for mobile medical care and identification purposes. Strengths: Reliably determines the race, gender, and age of a target; along with bone abnormalities and the locations of implants/augments. Weaknesses: There is a two year margin of error when the device calculates age. Creatures who are unusually sensitive to radiation may be affected by the initial scan. If the creature scanned is not part of the eight main races it will not identify the race. If a set of armor utilizes radiation of some kind to perform, such as various brands of power armor, then it may interfere with the waves cast by the device and cause it to return with an error. If the bone structure of a new race is nearly identical to one of the eight core races, then the device will read off that race instead.
