General Information “Listen closely, Human. My name is Karnis’Vaerok. I come from a land named Priden.” - Vaerok, to Doe Karnis’Vaerok is a Ravir warrior hailing from the depths of a distant galaxy, Triangulum. Entering the Milky Way as a cold brute with a passionate distaste for inferior species, he has grown to recognize the traits that make others in the Fringe strong, where physical strength may be lacking. Though he has grown wiser, he still has a long way to go. Since he first arrived in the Fringe after over a decade of cryostasis, Vaerok has overcome many challenges; from sneaking out of Clop Clop while pursued by police, helping kill Yakub Shabazz, defending Garlen from monsters, and many more. Name: Karnis’Nir’Vaerok, The Azure Blade Species: Ravir Age: 134 Date of Birth: May 12th, 3152 Nationality: Free Roamer Combat Theme: ~The Covenant Dance~ Occupation: Ravir Warrior, Monster Hunter Skills: Swords, melee combat, cooking, drums Physical Appearance As a Ravir, Vaerok is tall and heavy. He is 8’3” in height, and without equipment he weighs 850 lbs. Despite his massive size and weight, however, Vaerok is agile and precise, his powerful muscles allowing him to wield heavy melee weaponry. He is reptilian in appearance, his scales a pale blue color, a rare trait among the Ravir. Unarmored, he appears very muscular, and he has powerful and sharp teeth and claws when a blade is not an option. His saurian appearance is menacing, a trait that matches his skill as a fighter. Attached to his head is two large, curled horns. Equipment and Tech Used: Karnis’zult, Watcher Sword - The Twin Fangs of Karnis. An ancient Watcher blade traditionally wielded by the chieftain of the Karnis clan, it is one of a few of the greatest swords in the Milky Way galaxy. It is a combined blade, able to become one heavy two-handed sword, and able to come apart into smaller swords that can be dual wielded in Karnis style. It was given to Vaerok by his exile captain, Riksis, after he finally proved himself worthy of wielding it. Its cutting power is unmatched, far exceeding that of all modern weaponry. Vaerok does not use it often despite its extreme power, only willing to use it on opponents that have earned the right to coat it with their blood. (Above: A side of Karnis’zult.) Azra’zult, Frosten Ravirri Sword - Vaerok’s primary arsenal before he received a Watcher blade (and still his primary arsenal), Azra’zult is Vaerok’s primary weapon historically, and it is what he is nicknamed after. Its name means “Azure Blade”, and it is a frosten blade enhanced with Ravirri steel. Its cut is frigid, drawing not liquid blood, but frozen droplets. (Above: Azra’zult) Ravirri Armor - A black melee-protective nanoweave that has points where bullet resistant ablative plating can attach. Though disposal, ablative plating can take some heavy hits. Shooting it with something small only makes it madder. The plating is painted with accents of blue. Jump Pack - Attached to the back shoulders of Vaerok’s armor are some boost thrusters that can increase Vaerok’s leap distance by a considerable amount. Wrist Shield - A module that can be attached to the user’s left wrist. It can project a round shield of silicate hardlight, granting protection when a parry is not enough. Personality Vaerok was struck hard in the head, his entire form shaking and toppling his huge body over, causing him to crash to the ground. His eyes were closed, blood dripping from his mouth as the referee came to count down, his entire body shaking. His wrist slowly rose as the referee called the first number, 'ONE!' Vaerok clenched his fists, eyes closed as his head throbbed in a pain he hadn't felt in a long time. His whole body shook. 'TWO!' "...i..." Vaerok opened his eyes wide. She could see tears dripping from his eyes, his finger moving to feel them. He closed his eyes as tears flowed from his eyes, for the first time since he entered the Fringe. He sprung up with a newfound rage in his eyes, blood dripping down his chest as he roared, "I WON'T LOSE TO YOU!" - Vaerok vs. Brutal Star, Comet League Boxing Season 2 Vaerok is no-nonsense. He is often found in a bored mood often interpreted to be sour and ill-mannered. As a Ravir that still follows their traditional code, he values honor and fair combat, but to an extent. He prefers to make friends with warriors such as Glitch or Florans, but often grows irritated at Glitch who float too heavily their honor; to quote Vaerok to the Glitch Cassius, “Honor is useless if you are dead”. Vaerok has grown tolerant of the weak and people who aren’t warriors, but despises people who contribute little to society, such as criminals, thieves, and the lazy. He hates those who insult him without reason - despite being a powerful warrior, he does not often battle people for this reason, only fighting if asked to spar or if attacked. He will gladly spar or brawl anyone if asked, finding satisfaction out of teaching people to fight or learning more about how people in the Fringe fight. Despite his primal appearance and occupation as a hardened warrior, Vaerok is a fairly intelligent person and strategizer, contrary to accusations of being “lizard-brained”. Before he left Triangulum, he was Captain of the Karnis Guard, a position of power that required a high level of strategic brilliance. When given mystery, Vaerok will reveal himself to be rather inquisitive. Relationships “Identify yoursself, Fekssarli.” - Vaerok to Nir’Aksa upon meeting her. [Superior] Riksis: “Riksis is the leader of us exiles. Her skill in swordplay rivals my own easily, and she is not one to be taken lightly. The Fringe is lucky she rarely deals with outsiders these days.” "We got in a fight... she scolded me for how I lowered myself to participate in Comet League Boxing. She severed ties with me, but we made up. We both were hurt by our past. Now all we can do is look forward." [Rival] Vilidius: “Few have dared to approach me with intention of insult. Even fewer have insulted my honor. Vilidius, the buffoon Deadbeat, dared to offend me even further. He insulted my honor and even openly challenged me. He is the reason I am now a boxer, and it is now my ultimate goal to exceed him in boxing prowess. His title of Champion will be MINE, and he will know what it means to insult the Blue Razor.” “He apologized. But a Ravir accepts apologies on the battlefield, not through words. I will defeat him and claim his title - not because I hate him, but because it is my dream.” "I lost." [Detested] Caesar: “He steals Rose and I’s kill. He insults me. He dares to glare at me like I am inferior. He thinks his honeyed words and silver tongue hold sway with me like they do with others, but they do not. He does not know that I can easily end his life should I please. A mere human should watch his tongue; had he met me two years ago, I would have slayed him on the spot. Perhaps I have grown too soft.” [Acquaintance] Nir’Aksa: “There are very few of my kind in this Fringe. Why is it wrong for me not to trust her? It is not paranoia. It is rational. Her rank before she was exiled only makes her more suspicious to me.” "...she isn't sso bad." "We killed a big Pine Dog together after I disscovered she created Azra'zult. It was a good time, but Three told us not to kill any more. Lame." [Lost Friend] Greg Peters: “I miss him.” [Acquaintance] Rose Avalice: “Rose? When I first beheld her, I thought I saw weakness. Yet when we battled the Ixoling Matriarch, she openly frontlined with me, blade in hand. I have seen few in the Fringe of her king that chooses to use a blade over a firearm. Yet she does, and she does it well… but that isn’t to say she does not have a long way to go. Synthetic flesh is strong, but it cannot improve.” "Why does she always have something to PROVE? She gloats after defeating me, when I had disabled my blade, and she had gravity fissts. Of course I would lose in such a scenario - she had weapons and I am organic. She calls me a sore loser, yet her pride rivals that of even some Ravir." [Acquaintance] Three: “Three.. The construct? Yes, I know of him. Three is as strong as he looks, if not stronger. But that is not why I respect him. I respect him because of his stalwart loyalty to his home, Garlen. Even in the face of absolute danger, I would not expect him to back down.” [Acquaintance] Cassius: “Glitch tend to be the ones worthy of my favor. Cassius is no exception, except his choice of weapon intrigues me. The Ravir do not use hammers, but he seems to use it very effectively. I would not want to be on the receiving end of such a mighty blow. However, like many other Glitch, he has a major flaw: his chivalry is a barrier to his skill. He would flout honor in not harming a man that would seconds later nearly kill him. I do not understand it.” [Acquaintance] Doe: “This man I know not much of, only that he had the bravery - or the stupidity - to approach, and insult my concept of strength. We debated for something of half an hour, before I realized what this man had meant: strength can be different than raw muscle or combat ability. He challenged me to find strength in many different things, and that debate had challenged me not in physicality, but in my intellect. I will remember it.” [Idolizer] Lorch Tigren: “This ape seems to worship me at times. Even his mother came to me once asking me for an autograph to give to her son. In the Fringe, it seems typical for the weak to admire the strong. I will give him something to admire.” [Respected] Lkzi: “Many seem to think that I prefer my meat raw. Why? Why not take the opportunity to enhance the flavor of your meal when you can, to savor your kill? This is why I have trained myself in cooking. But this worm. This worm. This worm is as skilled in cooking as Riksis and I are skilled in blades. Everybody knows behind every good warrior is good food. I can respect that.” [Respected] Brutal Star: “I punched sense into her. She punched sense into me. It was the first time I ever shed tears in over ten years - I thought everything was going to be over. Everything I had worked for. I defeater her, but I learned something - what it means to be truly invested in something. I will win.” [Respected] Zizania: "She was the one who defeated me.. but she did not gloat, or attempt to anger me like she did her other opponents. She smiled. Most in her place would be prideful in defeating a Ravir, but she was not. She has the Spark." [Neutral] Corchea: "This Starchild is very annoying, and very weak... but they have what most here would call a 'heart'. Despite being near me in a fit of rage, they stood there and brought me food. Is that bravery or stupidity?" [Neutral] Belle: “Many seem to have great respect for her. But to me, respect is earned through combat, and she is weak.”
