    Name: Zezenarex, Fragmeniridescentia clavicula

    Description:

Specimen is a type of tall grass that has short, curved stems with long crystals of blue copper sulfate hanging from the ends; they have sharp tips and seem to be connected with an inner stem structure that contains seeds that are designed to be eaten with the crystals.

    Behavior: No complex behavior observed.

    Tamability: Domestication possible.

Where is it found?: On planet Meridia, where they grow in patches on its many islands or floating islands. It is often found near places of high shallow copper content, with roots deep inside the earth.

    Rarity: Common plant

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: It absorbs the metabolic byproducts of methanotrophic animals along with hydrogen and hydrogen peroxide, its water equivalent.

Products?: Can produce large crystals of copper sulfate that can be consumed by methanotrophic species for nutrients.

Reproduction: It grows its crystals around its seeds that animals eat and then propagate.

Size: Tall grass, less than half a meter.

    Weight: Light

    Lifespan: Grass

    Abilities: Sharp!

    Flaws: Incompatible with most biochemistries

I'm sure this is covered in the background info for the planet itself, but while I'm here I'll ask: does this ecosystem have a method for replacing/replenishing these deposits of copper this grass is found on?

    Other than that, Pass.

Basically, organisms that eat the crystals shit it out back into the soil
