//A post on a forum is made by user S.A.M.// I was researching fun earth holidays that I could celebrate with friends and I found one called Halloween. Now odd names aside it has an interesting history going back to Europe on old earth in the roughly 1400s. I've only been activated for 3 years and spent 2 of those exploring the stars so I'm not sure if and where Halloween is still celebrated. If it isn't celebrated then I'm hoping this post will inspire people to want to celebrate it. For those who don't know here is some basic information about this fun holiday. Halloween is celebrated on October 31. Traditions include: dressing up in a costume of a monster or fictional characters. (Costumes can be homemade or store bought.) Giving candy out to children who knock on your door and say "Trick or Treat" This is called "Trick or Treating". (Be sure to make sure the children say "Trick or Treat" before you give them candy.) For adults it is going to costume parties Consuming pumpkin spice flavored food and drink. Carving faces on pumpkins and putting light sources in them these are henceforth called Jack-o-lanterns (I have no idea why the ancient humans called them that) Entering fake haunted houses with animatronic monsters and actors instead of real ones. Watching scary movies. Decorating your living space to look scary. Posting internet memes about "The Great Skeleton War". (I've been researching it but found only memes. This war seems to be fictional) Posting dancing skeletons accompanied with the song Spooky Scary Skeletons by Andrew Gold or a remix by a long dead DJ called The Living Tombstone. (The Living Tombstone version seems to be more popular) Scaring people (for fun not with malicious intent) WARNING: Despite some traditions seemingly reference death, the afterlife, or murder. DO NOT KILL PEOPLE this is still a day like any other except curfew is later than usual. CRIMES ARE STILL ILLEGAL THIS ISN'T THE PURGE. Safety: If you're trick or treating wear bright clothing or a glow stick make sure vehicles can see you. Stay close to home or your friends home. Stay in groups there's safety in numbers. Make sure to run a chemical analysis on your candy to make sure there is no foreign objects than can kill you in them. Use common sense. Finally have fun (If you decide to celebrate this holiday). It seems to be very enjoyable and I wish for you all enjoy it.
