    Name: Lernaia Sanguis. Hydra's blood.

Description: Hydra's blood is a strange organism that functions similarly to plants and fungi without falling into either category. Hydra's blood takes the form of small circular 'leaves' connected by a subterranean root network. Hundreds and thousands are spread across the ground like grass. It usually saps an area of other plants, killing them or growing across them to increase their surface area. The organism grows remarkably fast, though it usually stops growing once its reached a certain size. This is in part dependant on the nutrient content of the soil, so they don't sap the place dry. They require sunlight and water in order to grow, and are usually found around coasts and lakesides in the Undercrypt. Only a few groves exist, forming the dens of Hydras.

The unique property of Hydra's blood is its ability to induce incredibly strong cell growth in anything that consumes or injects it into the bloodstream. This effect is so strong that organisms who consume Hydra's blood usually die from their entire body bursting into tumours. They form a symbiotic relationship with Hydras. Being the only animal capable of consuming Hydra's blood, Hydras clear out large areas for the organism to grow. And in return the Hydra's blood serves as a food source.

Raw Hydra's blood cannot be used on organics to speed up the healing of injuries. The regenerative effect is too great for that. As such, they cannot be used in the Undercrypt as immediate substitutes for Healing Potions. However, they can be diluted over several months to make these healing potions.

Behavior: Hydra's blood usually just sits there. Photosynthesising. It spreads quickly, stopping when it's reached a certain size. One entire mass of Hydra's blood is actually a single organism.

Tamability: You can tame a plant through force of will and imagination.

Where is it found?: In the undercrypt, comprising the few Hydra dens in Tartarus, Erebus and Djarus. May exist off-world as well.

Rarity: Where it grows, Hydras are found. Only a few groves exist in the Undercrypt. Usually near coastlines, though in Tartarus, they grow in fertile volcanic ash.

Diet/Method of gaining nutrients and energy: Mainly Photosynthesis. Which they do at an incredible rate. They may also parasitize off other plants and trees, stealing their nutrients. They rapidly grow over and decay dead bodies, using them as nutrients.

Products?: Hydra's blood is solely used as a food source by Hydras. They contain high amounts of nutrients. They also contain an agent that promotes rapid cell regeneration. Consuming a handful of leaves will cause an overload of cell growth in most organisms. Though it isn't poisonous or toxic in a chemical sense, they can be used to kill people through this method. Can be harvested from the fringe of a grove.

Additionally, Hydra's blood may be diluted and used as a substitute for healing potions. Though months of processing are required to make it safe for consumption.

Reproduction: Asexually. Hydra's blood spreads naturally as long as light and water is present. They usually choke out all plant life in an area. Or wrap around them to get their nutrients.

Size: Individual leaves are fingernail sized, but the root system can spread for a few hundred metres.

Weight: Each leaf weighs a gram or two. As much as you'd expect from a fingernail-sized leaf. The whole mass is much heavier.

Lifespan: Will keep growing and replacing itself.

Abilities: Contains high amounts of nutrients, as well as an agent that promotes rapid cellular regeneration.

    Flaws: Immobile. They're plants.

Other: A partner app to the Hydra application.

Hey Yongzhi, Sorry about the wait but I'm here to grade your application.
I'm gonna have to give it a light pending here. Overall it's a simple and pretty well written application, although I just want some clarification on some parts.
You mentioned that "Though it usually stops growing once it's expanded to a certain area." What did you exactely mean by certain area? Just areas that don't have enough light or water? Or did you mean something else. Also if someone were to over-use Hydra's blood it would result in tumors like you said right? If so, add that to the flaws. And when you say "Where is it found" I'm more looking for what kind of biome or types of areas it likes to live in. For example, you mentioned that they are usually found around coasts, if you could add that or go more in depth in the "Where is it found" section.

Thanks a bunch for being patient with us.  :)

Yes, it has a definite size based on the nutrient content of the soil. Depends on the area they're growing in. However, I feel that the tumour part shouldn't be considered a flaw of the organism, as it's not intended for consumption anyway. Will edit the rest of the things, and the tumour part if you still deem it necessary.

Well probably put the tumor part as an ability now that I think about it, since it can be used to deter predators from eating it. Otherwise I think this app is good to go! This app is now approved @"YongZhi"

    Have a nice day.
